Livermore’s new opened April 25 on First Street next to the . The new southern-style restaurant, which replaced Sapphire, focuses on slow-smoked barbecue and popular southern drinks like juleps and sweet tea cocktails. You can read more in earlier and on the new eatery’s website.

, located in Livermore’s Blacksmith Square, expanded its hours and is now also open Wednesday evenings from 6 to 9 p.m. Stephanie Fish, general manager for the tapas and wine bar, says Swirl will sponsor several fun Wednesday events over the next few weeks to support Tri-Valley Haven’s “Helping Women” campaign. Le Shear Salon opened in April next to Papa Murphy’s Pizza on Santa Rita Road. The new salon offers haircuts, perms, color, waxes and permanent makeup. You can find out more on Le Shear Salon’s facebook page.

The popular Tri-Valley catering company Cabana Dave’s opened Cabana Dave's Cafe in the southwest corner of the Dublin Corporate Center on Dublin Boulevard last month. Because the new café has no kitchen and attracts mainly the lunchtime business crowd, options are more limited than the company’s vast catering menu. But you’ll still find plenty of choices ranging from a Chipotle Bacon and Egg Bagel Sandwich to a Vegetarian Eggplant Parmesan Panini. Dublin’s seasonal Farmers’ Market opens this Thursday from 4 – 8 p.m. at Emerald Glen Park. In addition to featuring locally grown fruits and veggies, the market will host weekly special events such as free concerts, wine tastings, cooking demonstrations, children’s games and activities and more. This year you’ll find the market close to the playground area (near corner of Tassajara Road and Central Parkway).

San Ramon’s award-winning pet-grooming business is moving to a new space in the Crow Canyon Commons shopping center. Co-owners Mary and Dennis Parks, who have run Shampooches at the corner of Crow Canyon Commons for 18 years, plan to move into their new shop next door to Pasta Primavera in early May.

Alamo interior designer Kriste Michelini whose work was featured in the 35th San Francisco Decorator Showcase this year, recently opened a design studio in Danville on Railroad Avenue across Lunardi’s. Michelini says she’s partnered with Karen Eichler Fine Art to create a “pop up store” to showcase work by nationally recognized artists. The new Kriste Michelini Interiors will soon feature the designer’s new custom furniture and accessory lines, set to release this June.

Finally, congratulations to The Peasant and the Pear’s Rodney Worth, Blackhawk Grille’s Jason Buckely and The Restaurant at Wente’s Matt Greco for making  Chef-2-Chef.net’s list of “San Francisco’s 50 Finest Chefs.”

Dear Julie, Have you heard about the new Fusion Korean restaurant in the gas station at the Granada Shopping Center? It used to be a Mexican restaurant. I've eaten at the new place twice. I love their soft tofu soup, and the spring rolls were crispy and delicious! There's a small self serve Korean salad bar. They've redecorated and it looks clean and appealing. J.Suter
