As the nation gears up for the 2012 presidential debate, Patch wants to know what you're expecting during Wednesday's showdown between President Barack Obama and Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney.
Patch will be holding a debate-viewing event with a select group of community and business leaders.
The panelists will be sharing their reactions to what they hear from the two candidates. We will post those reactions live during the debate, which will be broadcast from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
We will also have a debate wrap-up story afterward with thoughts from our panelists.
When the story is posted don't forget to share your views on how the candidates addressed the issues you care about.
If you're a local business owner and are interested in attending Patch's debate-viewing event contact Patch Associate Regional Editor David Mills at david.mills@patch.com.
Perhaps when compared with Biden none of this is that bad... lets see..."a three letter word, j-o-b-s"... "Stand up Chuck (he's in a wheelchair)"... says to crowd in SF before NFC title game between NY and SF that "the Giants are going to go to the Superbowl!" And lets not forget "put ya'll back in chains" Speaking of "mop the floor" I can't wait to see Paul Ryan tear apart the dumbest man to serve as VP, formerly the dumbest man ever to serve in the Senate, Joe "Plugs" Biden.
Imagine if Ron Paul had just 15 minutes to address the nation. Very dangerous for the GOP and even now they are ready to blame the third party if they lose the election which is looking likely IMO.

We thought it would be interesting to get a focused reaction from community leaders and business owners to this first debate on domestic policy. It was just to try something different. We do want to hear from everybody and we encourage our readers to continue to use this comments section to voice their opinions.

I am curious who are the people will be attending the select group of community and business leaders and how or why they were selected to watch the debate with Patch. Am I the only one who is curious?
We sent out a number of invitations to local elected officials, candidates, chamber of commerce officials and local business owners in the San Ramon Valley, Tri-Valley and Tri-Cities areas. We expect about a dozen to be at our event. We have what appears to be a good cross-section of men and women as well as Republicans and Democrats who are deeply involved in their communities. The names of our panel members will be in the articles we post on debate night.
Thank you for the information!
There should be nothing controversial or biased about what I just explained. Tim, there has been more libertarian discussion and states won by Paul this election than any past. So the CNN commentary is nonsense. You keep using the wrong standards to measure the campaign. You are smart enough to understand this, and I am smart enough to ignore the discussion if you can't.
Pull on your hip boots folks, the bs will surely be plentiful tonight.
After reading everyone’s comments, it seems everyone is only interested in voting for political party. I know I am repeating myself, but the issues are still issues. Medicare, Social Security, the deficit, jobs and what each candidate's plan is, that is what we should be thinking about. We have a responsibility as voters to ourselves, each other, to our children and their children and so on. We have the responsibility to be fully informed and to share the information with one another to make intelligent decisions. I am waiting to see something of substance from Romney. The only thing I keep hearing from Mitt is what Obama did not succeed at. Once we start hearing the ideas, goals and plans from each candidate we should take the time to investigate and research everything. I don't know about you, but I don’t want to push all my chips forward and vote for either candidate not knowing what I’ll be getting into. I would be putting my children’s future at hazard. I want to be comfortable with my vote and say “alright, I’ll be a part of this plan.” Use FactCHECK.org or any other website which gives you facts without bias. I say forget party lines. Ever since George W’s first term, I abandoned hard party lines in voting. Let us watch the debates with open minds and follow the truth where ever it may take us. If it leads you to vote against your party, whichever it may be, then so be it. i know it's aggravating. I'm ahead of you there.
