Livermore Sanitation Rates May Increase

City Council to hold public hearing on proposed rate increases for Livermore Sanitation.

The City Council on Monday will hold a public hearing Monday on increasing  rates to help offset budget shortfalls the waste management company has experienced the past two years.

Livermore Sanitation is proposing a 19 percent fee increase for 20- and 32-gallon container residential customers and a 14 percent increase for all other customers, according to city staff reports.

If the council approves the proposed rates, Livermore residents would pay $13.76 for a 20-gallon container and $22.96 for a 30- to 36-gallon container.

If approved, the new rates would take effect July 1.
