Jobless Rates on the Rise Across Bay Area, Decrease Statewide
A new state report shows the jobless rate in Livermore experienced an incremental uptick.
Unemployment has increased in several counties across the San Francisco Bay Area, according to a recent state report.
The number of people out of work in Alameda County went from 10.8 percent to 11 percent, according to the California Employment Development Department (EDD).
The report released Friday shows the jobless rate in Livermore experienced an incremental uptick from to 7.2 percent in January.

In San Francisco County, unemployment increased from 9.2 percent to 9.5 percent.
Marin County saw jobless rates go from 7.9 percent to 8.2 percent, the report said.

Jobless rates rose in Solano County from 12.1 percent in December to 12.4 percent in January, and Santa Clara County's jobless numbers went from 10.4 percent to 10.5 percent.
While unemployment was up in the Bay Area, it decreased overall for California in January, according to the EDD.
Jobless numbers statewide fell from 12.5 percent in December to 12.4 percent in January, the department's report said.
More than 12,500 non-agricultural jobs were added since December across the state, for a January total of 13,971,200 such jobs in California, according to the EDD.
The unemployment rate is based on a federal survey of 5,500 California households and does not include agricultural jobs, which are handled by another department.
