Livermore City Council: Turner, Gary Elected

Laureen Turner and Stewart Gary will join city council.

and won a tightly-contested race for two open seats on the Livermore City Council, according to final results reported by the Alameda County Registrar of Voters. All 16 precincts have reported results, with turnout countywide holding at 27 percent.

Turner has 28 percent of the votes cast. Gary is second with 26 percent of the vote. Both are followed by who has 23 percent of the vote and, who terms out as mayor this year and has 22 percent of the vote.

Incumbent Jeff Williams is not running for re-election. He won his seat in 2007 against incumbent Lorraine Dietrich.

The other incumbent, Marj Leider, terms out this year after being first elected in 2003.

Burger is a retired Air Force combat veteran and a marketing officer at Credit Union.
