City Hosting Free 'Zero Waste' Workshop on Saturday

The free class will be held at the Livermore Public Library Civic Center on April 19.

Everybody is doing it. Or at least when you ask the question "do you recycle?" the answer is usually "Yeah, I do that." Almost everyone knows about recycling and mostly everyone does it. That's a good thing. Yet, there are many people that know they can do more, want to do more, but just are not sure how to go about it.  Here is your opportunity to learn how to do more, be more sustainable, and take action to be part of the solution, right now and right here in our community.

The City of Livermore is hosting a free workshop entitled "Zero Waste and Be a Sustainable Citizen." The workshop is all about taking you to the next level - beyond basic recycling - and arming you with information and simple, meaningful actions you can practice immediately so you can become a "sustainable citizen."

This interesting and engaging class explains how we are all part of the solution to reduce our energy and resource consumption. The workshop focuses on the principles of "Sustainable in 10" - ten actions that cost no money, create cost savings, and reduce our environmental footprint.

The average "sustainable citizen" household can save over $550 per year, while simultaneously eliminating literally tons of carbon dioxide per year (CO2) and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

The instructor, Todd Sutton, is an expert with over 20 years in of experience, and has appeared on the Discovery and the History channels.  Mr. Sutton has educated thousands of people on waste prevention, reuse, recycling, and composting.

The Zero Waste and Be a Sustainable Citizen class is free and will be held at the Livermore Public Library Civic Center.  Please register today by sending an email to todd@wastesleuth.com or call 925-787-8913.
