City Council Candidate: Bobby Burger

Bobby Burger is a candidate for the Livermore city council race in November.

We sent an e-mail questionnaire to every candidate running in the local November election. Here's the answers we received from Bobby Burger, who is running for Livermore city council.

What is the primary reason you are running for this office?

I will reclaim a voice for the citizens of Livermore. Livermore residents including myself feel as though the current council are not listening to our concerns and acting upon some secret agenda that is controlled behind the scenes. I want to restore transparency to the council and the decisions thereof. Residents must be heard.

What will be your single most important priority if you get elected?

The safety and security of our families is my number one and should be all council members’ number one priority. Families choose to settle in Livermore due to the proximity to the Bay Area activities and employers as well as the numerous opportunities Livermore possesses. Employers choose Livermore for the same reasons. Without the agility and training of first responders and attaining the correct level of forces, families and companies look for other locales to settle. I will work with the Chief of Police and the other council members to bring back the drug and gang task forces the residents demand and restore the feeling of safety and security for our citizens.

What sets you apart from the other candidates?

My twenty plus years of military resource management created an in-depth knowledge and a hands-on working experience in the governmental funding process that will allow me to cut the erroneously prioritized agendas out of city budgeting.  By ensuring that the budget is maintained with an emphasis of safety and security, I will correct these errors.  I will not allow special interests to dictate public policy.  I will oppose government funds being utilized to fund frivolous endeavors such as the Livermore Regional Theatre.
