And The Next City Council Member Will Be...

City of Livermore says 20 people have applied to fill a vacancy on the city council.

Livermore City Clerk Susan Neer says 20 applicants are vying  for the open city council seat. The .

Aside from , all three other candidates who came up short in the have entered their names to become the next city council member.

Other applicants include Planning Commissioner Todd Storti and David Furst, a former board member.

Here's the timeline the council is working on:

  • Dec. 12 (regular council meeting) — Council will screen applications and make selection of candidates to be interviewed.
  • Dec. 19 (special meeting) — Special meeting to conduct interviews and select councilmember to fill vacancy.
  • Jan. 9 — Oath of Office administered to newly appointed councilmember.

The term of the open council seat is from the date of the appointment to November 2013.
