Victim's School Records Discussed in Marie Johnson Case

Teacher accused of sex with former student scheduled to return to court on July 10.

Attorneys working the case of a teacher accused of having sex with a former student are now considering the victim's school records.

Marie Johnson, 41, faces charges of unlawful sexual intercourse with a person under 18, oral copulation and committing a lewd act on a child, according to court records. She briefly appeared in Pleasanton court Thursday.

Her attorney, Berkeley-based Elizabeth Grossman, and Alameda County Deputy District Attorney Venus Johnson on Thursday requested another further pre-trial hearing scheduled for July.

Next month's hearing will also decide whether the victim's school records will be admitted into the case, Venus Johnson said. Both attorneys also are waiting to receive the victim's medical records.

In a pre-trial hearing on May 2, it was announced by the Alameda County District Attorney's Office that an . Grossman at the time declined to comment on the case and also refused to discuss the offer.

Marie Johnson is being held at Santa Rita Jail in Dublin in lieu of a $950,000 bail.

She is scheduled to return to court at 9 a.m. July 10 in Department 703 of the Gale-Schenone Hall of Justice in Pleasanton.
