Vasco Reopened Following Fatal Crash This Morning

Five or six cars were involved, according to the California High Patrol.

Contra Costa County — Both lanes of northbound Vasco Road in unincorporated Contra Costa County have been reopened following a fatal crash this morning, a California Highway Patrol officer said.

A multi-vehicle collision was reported at 12:01 a.m. on northbound Vasco Road just south of Camino Diablo, CHP Officer Scott Cakebread said.

About five or six cars were involved in the crash, he said. One person died and at least one other person suffered major injuries. The lanes were reopened at about 3 a.m.
