Mother, Son Arrested On Marijuana Cultivation, Drug Manufacturing Charges

58 mature marijuana plants and 10 pounds of processed marijuana were found during the service of a search warrant.

A mother and son were arrested on Tuesday for charges of marijuana cultivation and drug manufacturing after a search warrant was executed at a home in Livermore, police officials said.

Police arrested Cody Latona, 21, and his mother, 49-year-old Loree Latona after the Livermore Police Department’s Special Operations Unit served a search warrant on July 30 at a home in the 1800 block of Valley of the Moon Road.

During a search of the home, officers found 58 mature marijuana plants and 10 pounds of processed marijuana, along with evidence that the occupants were "manufacturing hashish oil inside the residence by using highly flammable liquid butane," according to a statement release by police.

Police placed a juvenile that was in the home into protective custody because they say the flammable hashish oil was being made while the 17-year-old juvenile was in the home.

Both Cody Latona and Loree Latona were booked in the Santa Rita Jail in Dublin.
