Tracy Teen Arrested After Stolen Vehicle Crashes in Springtown

Two other suspects riding inside a stolen SUV were not found after police search in Springtown.

A 17-year-old girl from Tracy was arrested early Tuesday after she fled from during a stolen-vehicle investigation, Officer Steve Goard said.

Shortly after midnight, an officer spotted a Honda Pilot reported stolen out of Sacramento County in Springtown. The girl was inside the vehicle with two other people, Goard said.

The officer attempted to stop the stolen SUV on a vehicle code violation, but the driver instead fled and failed to stop for police.

The driver ended up crashing into a grass field off of Clydesdale and Bluebell drives after turning into a dead-end road, Goard said.

The three occupants of the vehicle then exited the vehicle and ran into the field.

More officers were called to the scene to assist in the search. In addition, Alameda County Sheriff's Office deputies also helped in the search.

The girl was located in a nearby backyard and was taken in custody on suspicion of resisting arrest. The other two people were not found and remain outstanding, Goard said.

Police do not have more information on the other suspects as the girl is being uncooperative with the investigation, Goard said.
