Three Arrested After Being Suspected of Stealing From Vehicles Sunday Morning

Livermore police arrested three minors after officers noticed a number of vehicle doors open in southwest Livermore on Sunday morning.

Three minors were arrested after they were suspected of stealing property from multiple vehicles in the southwest area of Livermore Sunday morning, according to the Livermore Police Department.

Police officers noticed vehicle doors opened in the area at around 6 a.m. Around the same time, dispatch started receiving calls that a young man was acting strangely in the area, knocking on doors and and trying to open vehicle doors.

After searching the area, officers found a 16-year-old male on the 100 block of El Caminito. He tried to evade officers but was quickly apprehended. In his possession was property from vehicles in the neighborhood, police said.

Two other minors were also arrested for petty theft and all three were released to their parents or guardians.

Officers spent several hours contacting residents whose unlocked vehicles had been entered and most stated nothing was missing from their vehicles.

Livermore Police wanted to remind the community to always secure vehicles when unattended, don't leave valuables in vehicles, and calling the police department when suspicious persons are seen.

Wow!! You would actually kill a young person for stealing maybe $100.00 worth. A life for $100.00.
AE January 29, 2013 at 03:53 am
Wow!! When someone is on your property stealing from you and your family...your suppose to ask the criminal how old they are before you pull the trigger??? How stupid are some people! What happened to common sense and the right to protect what is yours!!!
AE January 29, 2013 at 03:55 am
I too support the 2nd Amendment!! 12yrs as a military wife you can count on it!!
Megan January 29, 2013 at 04:10 am
I would blame the suspects BUT seems none of the cars were locked so I BLAME the "victims".
Dave January 29, 2013 at 12:03 pm
Why not. Then we would not have to deal with these worthless pieces of garbage.
Big M January 29, 2013 at 12:32 pm
So a car being unlocked gives someone the right to steal everything in it? I don't think so. More liberal drivel that enables these people to continue their crimes against us. They do not have fear because what is the worst that is going to happen? They'll be arrested and released to mommy and daddy who will "ground" them for a week. Then they'll go to court 3 months later and get a slap on the wrist, maybe some "community service" and then their record will be wiped clean in a few months.
They should be lucky someone didn't run them down and beat the daylights out of them. Oh wait, then they would become the victim and the property owner is now the criminal. silly me. Two thumbs up to ::thumbs up:: If we were allowed to protect our belongings with force, there would be a lot less of this stuff going on.

You can't shoot someone just for being inside of your car. But if they pull a knife or gun on you, shoot to kill. Dead men tell no tales.
Big M January 29, 2013 at 01:02 pm
In the free states you can...
DHS 76 January 29, 2013 at 05:46 pm
Kris Rascon, that is a very good question. Is a person's life worth $100? I sure hope these dumb-asses are asking themselves that question! Is $100 worth getting my head blown off? If their answer is "yes," then go on, cleanse the gene pool of your faulty logic.

Livermore works with Horizons to provide diversion so the kids learn from their mistakes. Sadly, they probably won't have jail time or any other consequence unless they are serious repeat offenders. Otherwise, the Tri Valley Youth Court is a voluntary program that follows restorative justice principles and helps the kids to learn from their actions and give back to the community. Three retards got chased; were too retarded to stay away; got caught. If they were shot and killed it would have helped clean the jean pool.

The idea of being a member of a community, and there services is that no one person requires the use of the services. In the case of and emergency, then we have use of these services. So I want these services to be available in and emergency. I do not create emergencies, only SELFISH, SELFCENTERED,EGOMANICS,steal our valuable services ie: criminals, and people who only think of there selfish needs.
Steve January 30, 2013 at 01:16 am
Sounds like your butthole is servicing your mouth again. Put the kids parents in jail.
Steve January 30, 2013 at 01:17 am
A thief should have their right hand cutoff. Or a finger if they are a minor. That'll change their entitled behavior.
Bryon Bruce January 30, 2013 at 02:22 am
Any time that I have had my property stolen it was my own fault. In the past two years I have had close to 50,000 dollars worth construction tools stolen. I was pissed blamed the police blamed everyone. I have to take personal responsibility it was my fault.
libertus_rebelium January 30, 2013 at 02:31 am
That is the stupidest thing here. Maybe I should have to wear body armor because if I don't, I deserve to be killed, and women who dress provocatively deserve to be raped and kids who look weak deserve to be bullied? We need to get rid of the notion that we should expect crime.. no we should not but we SHOULD severely punish those who would betray our trust not to be criminalized.
libertus_rebelium January 30, 2013 at 02:35 am
why was it your fault? You left it on your front lawn next to the giveaways? Did you steal them first and someone stole them back? It is NEVER your fault for being the victim of some turd who breaks the social contract NOT to steal or harm from those in their community. If they violate that, they deserve to be stolen from and harmed.
Megan January 30, 2013 at 02:38 am
technically these is no law broken if your vehicle is unlocked.
Megan January 30, 2013 at 02:39 am
just lock your damn cars--that easy
Megan January 30, 2013 at 02:40 am
retards? really?
Bryon Bruce January 30, 2013 at 02:54 am
Into my locked side yard. A great Livermore policeman came out, and told me they might come back, and steal again, and they did. It is my fault.
Steve January 30, 2013 at 03:04 am
It's the trains fault. Across the Stanley Rd. Where the deliquent kids live is where the train whistles all night long. Kids can't get a good nights rest. So instead kids leave bedroom, text friends & prowl streets breaking into cars. Kids parents commit domestic abuse. Put the train in jail.
Ragnarock January 30, 2013 at 04:49 am
Damn, it would seem nobody here has ever did anything stupid when they where young. What they did is no different then what kids have always done. Dose that make right? No should they be punished? Yes but there kids and kids screw up.
Steve January 30, 2013 at 05:08 am
Robbing cars at 6 am is NOT a stupid kid thing. Happenned several times. It is a sign off a new sociapath like killing small animals.
Steve January 30, 2013 at 05:09 am
I know how to spell but my big fingers on a small cell phone makes typos. So get over yourself.
Maurice Duenas January 30, 2013 at 11:22 am
Megan, not true. if the car is locked, it is auto burgraly, if its unlocked, it is a simple theft. burglary required premeditation such as breaking a window, jimmying a lock
libertus_rebelium January 30, 2013 at 12:53 pm
That does not mean there isn't something extremely wrong with that line of thinking.
Steve January 31, 2013 at 02:27 am
I had a situation like this years ago in Union city where it worse than here.I caught the 17 y.o. and wrapped him up and took him for a ride to a desolate area.I taught him a few lessons and then released him with no clothes. They didn't come near my house the rest of the time I was there and I moved to Livermore. Also I have taught all 3 of my sons the common sense rule "what they don't see they don't need".Additionally they automatically lock all security doors both house and vehicles.
Livermore resident February 7, 2013 at 05:29 pm
Hey Stevo...Today you could be arrested for kidnapping a child. Probably terrorized and molested him by removing his clothes. Not to say that what you did probably turned his life around and surely he didn't ever bother you again. I am just saying that in today's society the bad guy can turn into the victim in a heartbeat. We are living with a generation of "entitlement" where the unfortunate and bored youth can just go out and take what they want or don't have from others.
Also, to everyone, where does it say in the article that the cars were unlocked?

Wow, so quick to jump to conclusions and judge. Maybe T.G. BUYS the child's lunch. Every schoolRead More sells hot lunch every day. At the majority of our schools, more lunches are bought than given for free.
DeAnna Senft McDaid June 13, 2013 at 12:43 pm
The schools give us 2 options as parents. 1. Buying lunches on campus or 2. Send them with a lunch.Read More Clearly the author of this chose number 1 and the school was OUT leaving the child with NO 3rd option. Shame on that school.

A great issue! However, the rodeo is nothing but animal cruelty wrapped up as "tradition"Read More and "entertainment". Why would the animal's welfare become a concern now? Rodeo performers have been documented beating, kicking, and shocking normally docile cows and horses in chutes and holding pens. "Bucking broncos" and steers are provoked with electric prods, sharp sticks, caustic ointments, and the pinching "bucking" strap, which is what really makes them jump, they are not "wild" and "dangerous" . The cowboys earn points by spurring the bucking horse. I have seen them up close and many are bleeding. Calves, roped when running, have their necks snapped back by the lasso, often resulting in neck and back injuries, bruises, broken bones, and internal bleeding. After their short and painful "careers," animals in rodeos are sent to the slaughterhouse. Dr. C.G. Haber, a veterinarian who spent 30 years as a federal meat inspector, describes the animals discarded from rodeos for slaughter as being "so extensively bruised that the only areas in which the skin was attached [to the flesh] was the head, neck, leg, and belly. I have seen animals with six to eight ribs broken from the spine and, at times, puncturing the lungs. I have seen as much as 2 to 3 gallons of free blood accumulated under the detached skin." Every national animal protection organization opposes rodeos because of their inherent cruelty. Don't feel bad everyone, I used to love the rodeo too. Before I knew better...

Something to consider and not pushing it aside because I feel its unimportant, but what I'd love toRead More have access to is how the riders that were hurt are doing today. Two bull riders got gored, one in the back and he was down and out for a bit and then obviously not "okay" as he stumbled out of the arena and then another that got his leg hurt and he couldn't get himself over the gate on his own. Left saturday's Rodeo hoping they were okay and would love follow up if at all possible. Thanks!
