Teacher Who Pleaded No Contest to Sex With Minor Sentenced to Prison Being Paroled

Marie Johnson was sentenced to three years in state prison, Alameda County District Attorney's Office officials say.

A former Granada High School teacher accused of having sex with a minor was sentenced to prison today but will be released on parole.

Marie Johnson, 42, was sentenced at the Hayward Hall of Justice this morning after pleading no contest to nine counts of having sex with a minor. Johnson's sentence of three years in state prison will be followed by four years on parole, according to officials at the Alameda County District Attorney's Office.

However, officials at the Alameda County District Attorney's Office say Johnson will not be going to prison as she is getting credit for time already served in custody and will immediately start parole.
