This is so sick.

You sleep with kids, text them inappropriate stuff and this is what you get. 24 Counts means they have pretty substantial evidence. What adult in their right mind sleeps with a 14 year old. Oh damn I should erase that, her attorney may go for an insanity plea. She should be ashamed of herself.

Are the cops planning to interview the students?
Cherry January 13, 2012 at 10:31 PM
If your child went to or currently goes to Granada you should ask them if she was inappropriate with him or her.

Changing the subject just a tad. I think it's going to be interesting to see the similarities and differences between this case and the Male Union City teacher picked up for having relations with a female student..
Deanna January 14, 2012 at 12:43 AM
I don't believe she did this since I personally knew her; until she's proven guilty (which I hope she is not) I will pray for her and just hope that these allegations are false. IF the allegations are false, I think the boy should be punished for ruining a woman's life and career.

Deanna go ahead and stick your head in the sand

Livermore police Detective Joseph Draghi said in a probable cause arrest warrant filed in court today that when police interviewed Johnson on Wednesday she "admitted to committing the above-listed violations."

So, so sad for ALL involved. @ Julia - the victims can be somewhat 'brainwashed' to believe their relationship is 'real', and then they can start feeling ashamed of themselves for not stopping it, for believing the abuser, and then for not saying anything. That makes it very hard to come forward. I feel for her victim, and her husband and son, and I hope they all can get the psychological help they need to get through this horrible experience. As for the teacher, she needs to be punished, and she also needs psychological help. It seems as though with her quick admission, that she probably had been feeling guilty and remorseful and wanted to let it out and take her punishment. I hope he was the 1 and only victim, and that she never hurts a child again.
Dublin Mom January 14, 2012 at 09:11 PM
What kind of permanent damage was caused by a sex abuse victim having to see his abuser remain in a position of authority while the district dragged its knuckles on the ground and protected her rights?

I’ve remained silent on this issue out of respect for the privacy of all individuals involved in this case and have done my best to wait for all of the information to be released (which it still hasn’t), but these posts have become way to ridiculous, inflammatory, and liable to the extent that it’s offensive and I must write. The recent comments made by “Dublin Mom” on the Livermore.Patch.com site are simply offensive.
Keith Pickering-Walters January 15, 2012 at 11:07 AM
Your suggestion that the case was being “investigated by school authorities at the time, and that was why [your] visit was canceled” is completely offensive. And you expect to be invited back as a speaker? (It might also be good if you can get the name of our school correct – it’s Granada, not Grenada) Disclaimer: The comments made here represent my personal views and my views only and do not represent any official position, policy, or contract of the Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District or the Livermore Education Association. I am currently employed as a teacher at Granada High School and am darned proud of our school, staff, and students. Prior to Granada, I was the president of our teacher’s union for four years, am currently the Bargaining Chair, and am darned proud of the vast majority of my fellow staff members and the work that our union does to represent the teachers of Livermore. Prior to LEA, I taught at Livermore High School and am darned proud of that school, too. Prior to LHS, I taught at Marylin Avenue until our bilingual program was dissolved and I decided to obtain my Single Subject Fine Arts Credential to teach at the High School level. And, yes, I’m darned proud of Marylin Avenue Elementary School as well.
Keith Pickering-Walters January 15, 2012 at 11:07 AM
The comments made by Dalene Barry are simply inaccurate. She was invited to speak at GHS by a classified staff member who knew her and around the time of her visit began working for her as her “Education Outreach Coordinator”. Her presentation about her personal experiences being abused to a Human Development/Relationships class was the appropriate venue. Speaking to the entire campus of Livermore High School was not – especially since it was not approved by the administration and was misrepresented to a staff member there as if it had been wholeheartedly recommended by Granada. Her book was never pulled off the library shelves because it was never on the library shelves. Books – especially books donated to the school by an individual – must be reviewed and then approved prior to being placed in libraries or classrooms. Imagine what would happen if schools just accepted any book that was given to them? What if Playboy Magazine donated a subscription, would you expect that we’d immediately make it available to students?
Keith Pickering-Walters January 15, 2012 at 11:08 AM
The articles report that the student told another staff person on campus about the accusations on Tuesday. That staff person obviously did what they were trained to do as a mandated reporter and immediately reported it. The police were involved immediately and the accused was arrested prior to the start of school. The articles have also stated that the “alleged assaults occurred in a car and other undisclosed locations in Livermore.” There is no mention that it occurred at Granada. We don’t have some secret room that everyone turns a blind eye to so that adults and children can spend time together. Your suggestions that the District and Unions knew about this sickens me and I can only imagine what your motivation is for suggesting this. If you have “never heard of a school district that chose the rights and safety of a student over the rights and safety of the employees…”, you have certainly never heard of any of our schools in the Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District because that’s what we all do – at every one of them. Your “facts” and “statistics” around employee rights, violations, employee evaluations, and what the purpose of the Union is are completely fabricated in your mind.

Innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. If not, good luck.
DAVE McCULLOUGH January 15, 2012 at 10:03 PM
Innocent until proven guilty?, yes, Unless?, you admit to it, then you are " GUILTY! " by honesty.
Mrs J. January 16, 2012 at 12:33 AM
Good words Karen, thank you!
Melissa Lin Martinez January 16, 2012 at 12:46 AM
Do u think a gun was put to her head to have her admit guilt? I don't think so!
MagnusT January 16, 2012 at 05:38 AM
How do you know there wasn't? It's not like the first time it's happened in America. Anyway, let's see how you feel when someone accuses you of similar.
Michelle January 17, 2012 at 09:34 PM
@Dublin Mom - I am not sure why you keep saying that the Livermore School District was hiding this whole thing in hopes to protect the teacher. I am not sure where you have received any of this information. In every article that has been posted about this event and my understanding the police reports. Is that the victim told a teach on TUESDAY and before school started on WEDNESDAY she was arrested. So in LESS that 24hrs, the victim reported it and she was arrested. So I'm confused where you are getting the information. @ MagnusT - All though you are VERY outspoken about everything, you are very correct in "due process", not sure why anyone else is against the "Innocent until proven guilty" These are laws that this county is based on..... How bad when any of you. who are so quick to have her hung, feel that if she was put to death and then it comes out that the victim lied about the whole thing to get attention for some reason, how bad would you feel?? What if it was your wife or husband who was getting accused and arrested???? Would you be saying crucify them??? Before both sides were able to present their case?? I think not. If she is guilty, that means the defense had enough EVIDENCE to prove her guilty. If she is found innocent then they did not have the EVIDENCE. If she is innocent, her life and the life of her family if ruined, forever, you don't just simply bounce back from something like this.
MagnusT January 19, 2012 at 04:52 AM
Thank you, Michelle. Now imagine the frustration you would feel if 3 people reply by saying you're a threat to children, you're probably a molester yourself, etc., just for defending a person on the basis of the Law and our system of justice. I'm outspoken because I believe in hammering lessons home until the students get the message. So far my words are falling mostly on deaf ears but I'm glad that yours are open and your mind is alert. You are a rarity around here.
