By Bay City News—

An oil spill from a damaged big rig tanker has closed two lanes and an onramp on eastbound Interstate Highway 508 east of Livermore this evening, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The spill was reported just before 3:30 p.m. just east of North Flynn Road in the Altamont Pass area, according to the CHP.

The two right lanes and the North Flynn Road onramp have been closed and are not expected to reopen before 7 p.m., a CHP official said this evening.

Traffic is still moving in the left lanes but drivers are advised to seek alternate routes, if possible.
