Police Seek Donations for School Supplies

Livermore Police Department to hold annual "Stuff the Cruiser" event.

The Livermore Police Department will be putting on its annual “Stuff the Cruiser” event on Saturday, Aug. 18 and Sunday, Aug. 19 between the hours of 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. LPD personnel and volunteers will be placing a marked police cruiser in front of various stores for community members to stuff the patrol car full of school supplies. 

Our goal is to collect school supplies such as backpacks, paper, binders, pens, pencils, erasers, folders, protractors, compasses, glue, calculators, and scissors.  All of the collected school supplies will be sorted and the backpacks will be filled.  The filled backpacks will then be provided to students in need, ranging from kindergarten through high school, that have been identified through our Horizons Counseling program and the .

On Aug. 18 patrol cars will be parked at the Livermore locations of and Office Max. On Aug. 19 patrol cars will be parked again at Wal-Mart as well as the CVS store located at 1500 First Street.

Due to the generosity of the Livermore community, in years past, we have been able to provide between 275 and 300 students with necessary school supplies.  If you would like to make a donation, but cannot come to any of the above events, you can drop off donated school supplies in the front lobby of the police department. The drop box will in the lobby of the Livermore Police Department starting Aug. 8 and will remain until Aug. 19.
