A female was arrested Thursday afternoon on suspicion of prostitution at the Livermore Health Center, Livermore Police Officer Traci Rebiejo said.
The arrest is part of an ongoing investigation of suspected prostitution and pandering at the massage parlor on 2978 Pacific Ave., across the street from the .
Rebiejo was unable to provide the age or name of the female arrested.
The owner of the health center was cited for numerous city code violations, as was another masseuse working at the business, Rebiejo said.
It was unclear if the female arrested on suspicion of prostitution is a masseuse at the massage parlor.
A Friday afternoon call to the business seeking comment was unanswered.
The business boasts a five-star rating on Yelp and has four positive reviews.
Here's part of a review left in May 2011 by Yelp user Mark H:
This is absolutely my favorite place in the Tri-Valley to get a massage. I shopped around quite a bit in Livermore, Pleasanton, Dublin, and even San Ramon. I love this place!!! Each of the massage therapists here pretty much has her own technique so it's hard to pick a favorite, but they are all VERY good. Whether you're into soft touch, deep tissue, or somewhere in between, you'll find just what you're looking for here. They even do back-walking if that's what you need/want...
The owner of the Livermore Health Center is scheduled to have a business permit meeting with Livermore Police Chief Steve Sweeney on Monday.
(leah and mvs need to CHILL.
#2 As far as negativity around the police, I know the frustration when they don't respond quick. I know of police cutbacks & there aren't enough cops to cover Livermore sufficiently. Placing blame is always easiest when you know nothing about the real issue. Bring this up at a city council meeting or contact the Chief if you want changes.
The massage parlors are not all loaded with prostitutes. The ones that do offer sexual services generally offer hand jobs - no oral sex or intercourse. In the massage parlor world, Livermore and the Tri-Valley are known as a tough place to get a happy ending. Although it's true it does happen, it's not as frequent as you may think after reading the above comments. It is my job to know the above information, it is not an admission of first hand experience.
No reason for everyone to get their panties in a twist - legalize, regulate, tax and protect the workers. It is indeed the world's oldest profession and will never go away.
Sounds like someone didn't pay their hush money this month.

Two things. 1- Prostitution is not going away, its been around for thousands of years. Crack down on the massage parlors, then it goes into peoples households and good luck on enforcing that. 2- Why do people worry about STDs, unless you're invovled in this stuff. Seriously, if you have a partner you don't need to worry.
How very disappointing of you all This article is akin to saying "We staked out the sole prostitute that walks downtown for months before we were able to make an arrest..." I bet if they spent as much time trying to solve some of the 13 break-ins/home invasions they would have the perps already. Oh well, i guess if you can get "big wins" by picking the low hanging fruit, go for it...
I say to each his or her own. Let's focus on issues that jeopardize our safety in this town.
'MVS' does not impress me with her attempts to 'protect the community' from consensual acts behind closed doors.
