Police Log: Burglars Busy In New Year

Notable incidents encountered Jan. 1 to 7.

Along with impaired driving, assaults and vandalism, the Livermore Police Department reported numerous burglaries last week — from homes, businesses and from vehicles.

Sunday, Jan. 1

  • Suspected DUI arrests began early: 12:33 a.m., a male motorist at Third and South L streets; a man at 1:35 a.m. along 500 Curlew Road; man at Second Street and South Livermore Avenue at 2:07 a.m.; and another male driver at 4:20 a.m. along the 1800 block of First Street.
  • Felony vandalism was reported at 2 a.m. on the 5200 block of Norma Way.
  • Robbery was reported on East Stanley and Murrieta boulevards at 2:36 a.m.
  • Assault-and-battery incidents were: 3:40 a.m. along 300 North P Street; and 6:09 p.m. from the 800 block of Airway Boulevard.
  • Vehicular burglary was reported at 7:30 p.m. on the 2000 block of Hawk Street.

Monday, Jan. 2

  • Felony vandalism was reported at 6:45 a.m. along 1500 Arlington Road.
  • Drunk-and-disorderly arrest was made at 12:35 p.m. along 2100 First Street.
  • Domestic violence was reported at 12:45 p.m. on the 500 block of Colusa Way.
  • Vehicular burglary incident filed from 1100 block of South Livermore Avenue at 3:50 p.m.
  • Two burglaries reported: a home along 400 North I Street at noon; 5800 block of Naylor Avenue at 5:30 p.m.

Tuesday, Jan. 3

  • Car break-ins continued: 1 a.m. on Anna Maria Street's 700 block; along 1400 Sauvignon Court at 5:30 p.m.; and 6:30 p.m. on 4100 Bishop Pine Way.
  • Two businesses burglarized: 7:30 a.m. on the 1300 block of Second Street; 8:10 p.m. along 1200 Arrowhead Avenue.
  • Domestic violence was called in from the 1500 block of Fifth Street at 11:20 p.m.

Wednesday, Jan. 4

  • A man was arrested at 12:30 a.m. on East Avenue at Loyola Way for suspicion of DUI and being under the influence of narcotics.
  • More vehicular burglaries: 3:20 a.m. along 900 Venus Way; 4:30 a.m. on the 900 block of East Stanley; and 5:30 a.m. along 5500 Felicia Avenue.
  • Two drunk-and-disorderly arrests were made: 9:15 a.m. on the 1900 block of Holmes Street; and 10:55 p.m. on First's 4400 block.
  • Residential burglary was reported at 5:55 p.m. on the 700 block of Saddleback Circle. 
  • Commercial burglary logged at 7 p.m. on 2100 Las Positas Court.
  • DUI arrest was made at Jefferson and Adams avenues at 9:58 p.m.

Thursday, Jan. 5

  • Residential burglary was reported at 9 a.m. on the 2200 block of Linden Street.
  • Car break-in logged from the 800 block of North P Street at 11 p.m.
  • Car stolen from 3600 block of Leahy Way at 8 p.m.
  • Grand theft was reported from Laughlin Road's 900 block at 9 a.m.
  • Felony vandalism called in at 9:22 p.m. from El Rancho Drive's 800 block.
  • DUI arrest was made at 11:43 p.m. on East Stanley at Nancy Street.

Friday, Jan. 6

  • Burglary was reported at 1:06 a.m. at a business along 3600 East Avenue.
  • Two separate domestic assaults reported: 5:30 p.m. along 1300 First; and on the 200 block of Lee Avenue at 5:40 p.m.

Saturday, Jan. 7

  • Domestic violence was reported at 7:26 p.m. on the 5200 block of Norma Way.
  • An individual was arrested for allegedly possessing controlled substances at 10:36 a.m. on Second Street's 1600 block.
