Police Log: Burgling; Boozing; Bomb-Building

Notable incidents encountered Jan. 15 to 21.

Several alcohol-related arrests and burglaries involving homes, businesses and autos were reported last week by the Livermore Police Department.

Additional details were also released regarding the bomb-squad Colusa Way .

A Livermore man, 38, who faces the gravest charges in the case, is scheduled to enter his plea to alleged drug and bomb-making counts Jan. 24 at the Gale-Schenone Hall of Justice in Pleasanton, according to Alameda County court records.

The suspect faces charges of: suspected possession and use of controlled substances; child endangerment; and constructing an explosive device. He is jailed with $162,500 bail at the Santa Rita Jail in Dublin, according to Dublin Police Services, which assisted in the case. 

The suspect was arrested in 2011 for various drug and driving violations, according to records.

Six other suspects arrested in the Jan. 18 Colusa sweep included:

  • a Livermore man, 54, for alleged possession of drug paraphernalia;
  • two Livermore women, 43 and 35, for allegedly being under the influence of controlled substances;
  • two Livermore men, 45 and 36, for being under the influence of narcotics and for paraphernalia possession; 
  • and a Pleasanton man, 31, for possession and being under the influence of controlled substances.

Saturday, Jan. 21

  • Residential burglary was reported at 6:30 p.m. on the 1300 block of Anza Way.
  • Commercial burglary logged at 4:53 a.m. from 200 North Greenville Road.
  • Drunk-and-disorderly arrest was made at 1:56 a.m. along 2100 First Street.
  • Assault also reported a few minutes later at 2:04 a.m. on 2100 First Street.
  • Theft cited from 4400 First Street at 2:55 p.m.
  • Vandalism along 1700 Paseo Laguna Seco logged at 1 a.m.
  • Five DUI incidents reported: on Holmes Street and Catalina Drive at 1:37 a.m.; 2:54 a.m. on First and South L streets; 6:32 p.m. along 900 North Vasco Road; 11:14 p.m. on Fourth and South I streets; and one with reported bodily injury involved at First and South Q streets at 2:55 p.m. 
  • Report of assault involving a firearm was made from the 3800 block of Hillside Avenue at 10:35 p.m.

Friday, Jan. 20

  • Stolen vehicle case reported at 9 a.m. from 2900 Kiwi Court.
  • Commercial burglary reported from the 4500 block of Las Positas Road at 3:05 p.m.
  • DUIs reported at 1:34 a.m. on 1600 Juniper Street, and at 2:24 a.m. on South S Street and College Avenue.

Thursday, Jan. 19

  • DUI arrest made at 11:49 p.m. on Patterson Pass and Greenville roads.
  • Public intoxication reported at 5:51 p.m. along 4300 First Street.
  • Car break-in called in at 4:49 a.m. along 3800 East Avenue.
  • Identity theft incident filed from the 800 block of Saddleback Circle at 8 a.m.

Wednesday, Jan. 18

  • An individual was arrested for suspected narcotics possession at 10:42 a.m. on North Livermore and Portola avenues.
  • Bomb-squad incident was reported on 400 Colusa Way. 
  • DUI arrest made at 10:04 p.m. on Holmes Street at Murrieta Boulevard.

Tuesday, Jan. 17

  • DUI arrest logged at 5:10 a.m. on Las Positas and North Mines roads.
  • Drug paraphernalia arrest along 1000 East Airway Boulevard was reported at 4:24 p.m.
  • Theft reported at 6:36 p.m. along 4500 Las Positas.

Monday, Jan. 16

  • Three reports of car break-ins: 1:28 a.m. on the 6100 block of St. Andrews Way; 2:45 a.m. along 1100 Central Avenue; and 6:55 a.m. on 6500 Village Drive.
  • Two reports of stolen vehicles filed: 1:40 a.m. along 5700 Edelweiss Way; and on 1100 Cromwell Street at 9 p.m.
  • Vandalism on the 900 block of North Vasco Road reported at 9 a.m.
  • Commercial burglary was reported at 7:59 p.m. along 1200 Arrowhead Avenue.
  • An arrest for suspected DUI was made at 4:21 a.m. on Walnut and North L streets. 

Sunday, Jan. 15

  • Alleged battery at 1:14 a.m. on the 2200 block of First Street resulted in the arrest of a Livermore man, 22.
  • Car break-in reported at 4:40 a.m. on the 4500 block of Contractors Place, and at 1 a.m. along 800 Las Flores Road.
  • Grand theft logged from along 2200 First at 4:30 p.m., and petty theft on 4400 First at 10:26 a.m.
  • Motorist was cited for suspected possession of marijuana while driving at 10:56 p.m. at Frankfurt and Helsinki ways.
