Man Found Dead in Portola Meadows Apartment

No obvious signs of anything suspicious, police say.

Police on Wednesday were investigating a man's death at the , Lt. Ava Garavatti said.

There were no obvious signs of anything suspicious, Garavatti said of the initial investigation. The man is described to be in his 40s.

At about 2:30 p.m., emergency crews were dispatched to 1125 Portola Ave. for a man found dead.

Authorities during the investigation taped off the area and were redirecting pedestrians, telling them they couldn't enter a crime scene.

Police also took pictures of a shattered window at the apartment.

In addition, police questioned a woman.

"I grabbed him and told him to wake up! Wake up!" the woman told police.

The woman, who got into a heated conversation with police, also was treated for an injury to her right hand.
