UPDATE: Suspects Still At Large After Home Invasion Robbery

Police say at least two armed suspects forced entry into a home on Reginald Court, tied down two people inside the residence and made off with undisclosed items.

5:20 p.m. update

continue to investigate an early Tuesday home-invasion robbery on Reginald Court, off Lomitas Avenue, in south Livermore.

Here's information from a police press release:

At about 4:40 a.m. officers responded to a report of a home invasion robbery. At least two suspects forced entry into a home and were armed with handguns. The suspects wore masks that covered their faces and also wore gloves. The suspects bound the two victims who were home and covered their heads.

The victims are owners of a local Bay Area casino club. The suspects rummaged through the house and were selective in the property they took.

Reginald Court is near Concannon Boulevard and neighbors church.

Residents said the area in the south side of town has been hit with several break-ins reported in recent weeks. Neighbors have also posted fliers around the neighborhood warning residents of the recent crime.

However, police said Tuesday's home-invasion robbery is an isolated incident

An investigation is still on-going and police are not releasing any further details at this time. Anyone with information or witnessed the incident is encouraged to call the Livermore Police Department at 925-371-4900.

Livermore Patch will update this story as more information is made available.

Too many of these comments and reply are from people who have no idea what they are talking about. First of all, the power of the modern wepons is beyond most homeowners. The .44 mag, the 9 m/m, the bullets used in rifles to hunt deer, shotguns with large size pellets will hardly slow down in the human body. The bullet will go thru inside walls, outside walls, you have no idea the power the modern wepon has. When you arm yourself, think about what you may have to do, once done, it cannot be recalled. I am a firm belever in self defence, but you need to think before hand. Shotguns are great, but with shot no larger than #4, hand guns no larger than .38, and NO magnums. Shotguns with long barrels are hard to swing inside a home, effective but difficult to use. And by the way, that home alarm system, it only alerts the police, they respond at their discression and speed.

Are you trying to suggest that jumping behind my couch won't stop a bullet like I see on tv? Psh. Everyone knows that everything that happens in the movies and on tv is exactly like real life. Gosh!
Bruce Shue May 31, 2012 at 10:14 pm
You have a lot to learn about taking fire. Noboby in their right mind will compair a couch to a wall. It is the quality of the shot, Not the quanity. If you can hit your target at seven yds, there is no need for a cannon with grape shot.
My comments are not baised on TV, only real world.

doesnt it make you feel better to know police assured folks it was an "isolated incident" ???? NOT .....there already were 2 breakins couple weeks ago on Tahoe Dr. a few blocks away..... the neighbors were invited to a neighborhood watch meeting. Note the photo of the Police community SUV...I .wonder if the police were able to come for the call......?

The cops are not waiting at the Donut Shop. The Livermore cops are very responsive and pro-active. I agree with protecting yourself and the police have many tips for showing you how to try to prevent this. They will even come to your home and show you were the vulnerabilities lie. Give them a call. Join neighborhood watch, take some of their classes. You should never rely on anyone else to protect you for the bad things (natural disasters included). Be pro-active. Be informed.
MagWil01 June 1, 2012 at 01:09 pm
The police force has had to be reduced for financial reasons. To help, you can donate your time, help with rund-raising. The goal of the police department here is to get a handle on these crimes and put the city back to where it was. Let's all pitch in to make it a better city.
MagWil01 June 1, 2012 at 01:50 pm
Thanks for sharing your knowledge Bruce. You are thinking of everyone's safety. We need to be responsible citizens, researching what we can do to protect ourselves and educate ourselves at each level.

Hi Kris or anyone with info...
A homeless friend of ours was beaten to death (murdered) Saturday night, and no one will say what happened. Can you find out more about this poor fellow? His tag name was "wolf" or "Chief" and he used to hold a sign at Lucky's N. Livermore driveway.
Local June 4, 2012 at 10:44 pm
@ Livermoronian, I am terribly sorry to hear that! Did he used to sit at the driveway entrance into the shopping center on the Livermore Ave. side close to Massage Envy? Whether I'm thinking of the same man, where was he when he was beaten to death? Why the hell is this not on the front page news!?!? :/
Bay Area Patch Reader June 5, 2012 at 12:46 am
Wow! How did you find out about it, Livermoronian? That is tragic! He was a Veteran correct? I saw him many times, sitting at the end of the parking lot or at the nearby bus stop.
Speaking of which...does anyone know what happened to the homeless man that usually hung out downtown? Tall guy, had long hair for a while but recently cut it, big nose, Eastern European accent? Very nice man just haven't seen him for a while!
Kristofer Noceda (Editor) June 5, 2012 at 02:01 am
re: homeless man I haven't heard of anything so let me check with police and other sources to see if there's anything to report. Thanks!
Livermoronian June 5, 2012 at 01:44 pm
HI Local...I am trying to find out more. We don't know very much about it at all. I am very curious as to why this is such a "hush-hush" event. This should be in the police log and its not even showing in there.
Livermoronian June 5, 2012 at 01:53 pm
Hi Patch Reader...I found out about it sort of "through a grapevine" you might say. My friends that are somewhat homeless and they eat at the Vineyard church with them. They heard from a woman that works along with the homeless coalition. She was supposed to meet with him at Pete's Coffee on Sunday morning and he didn't show up. She went to the police station, I believe, and asked about him. They didn't say anything to her, but she overheard them saying..."oh that homeless man that was beaten to death?". Now, this comes from word of mouth, so I don't know how accurate the details (what little we have) are. That's why I wanted Kris to check on this and see if he can find anything out. She thought it could be "gang related". I want the real facts, so that rumors don't start...you know how that can be. WHY...is this NOT being exposed??? weird.
And Kris is the other fellow you are talking about. He is Polish...I do not know, but now that you have mentioned it, I am going to look for him. Thank you for bringing it to my attention. I can find him by the fountain usually near Grocery Outlet.
Livermoronian June 5, 2012 at 01:54 pm
Kristofer...thank you for anything you can find out. We just want the truth..not rumors.

This particular post (page) in my humble opinion seems that it should either be validated or terminated. Here are things that seem can be done that will force compliance by authorities:
(a) Document correspondence with authorities, request information under Freedom of Information. (b) Notify the Chief of Police (c) Notify the Sheriff's office (d) Notify the District Attorney (e) Notify the County Corrinor and under Freedom of Information http://www.alamedacountysheriff.org/cws_coroners.php (f) Notify the FBI (g) Notify the Attorney General for the State of California (h) Ask to see the 911 logs (i) Contact the fire chief for his emergency call records (j) If you are handling this outside the media check with all media outlet metro reporters. Stick to the exact time frames covered in the alleged incident. Otherwise kill this page ... in my opinion.

@Rich I'm working on setting the record straight. Folks from now on if you have a news tip or something you want me to check up on please e-mail me at kristofer.noceda@patch.com. Thanks
Kristofer Noceda (Editor) June 5, 2012 at 03:02 pm
No report of homeless man beaten to death over weekend, according to police.
Bay Area Patch Reader June 5, 2012 at 03:53 pm
I drove by Lucky's today and didn't see him. I sure hope he's okay, since the police have no record of anything.
Just to set the record straight, is it okay that we post questions/concerns about the community (people in it), as long as it doesn't lead down the "rumors" path? Liver and I were able to make a connection about another homeless man that wouldn't have been made if it weren't for this post. Also, I am a bit concerned about e-mailing story ideas, especially since I have to provide a name and e-mail address. Obviously, I like to stay somewhat anonymous. I'm just concerned about how confidential my information is.
Kristofer Noceda (Editor) June 5, 2012 at 04:20 pm
@Patch Reader I would post questions/concerns as an announcement so that the topic would stay in one section of the site. http://livermore.patch.com/announcements/new As for e-mailing news tips or questions I hold that info as background and do not publish sources unless I have their permission to do so.
Livermoronian June 6, 2012 at 01:40 am
Thank you, Kris...I actually did email you with the same question, but I also wanted to post this question to this posting, since it is recent and the most used by more people, and it DOES have to do with the latest rash of crimes arising in this city. I was hoping to see if anyone else here heard anything, as well as you, kris. I appreciate your checking on this and I am going to go to the source of this information, and see how reliable it is.
@Patch Reader...I agree that It was informative regarding the other guy, Kris, that I would not have known about if I hadn't posted here. I haven't had a chance to check, as I have been working a lot. I will definitely find something and follow up.
Livermoronian June 6, 2012 at 01:53 am
Found out it was on Wednesday May 30th that he was found dead, not the weekend. I wonder why all the secrecy??? There are people that care about this guy wondering around in the dark...

Just leave. Find another forum to place your pedestal in.
Rich Buckley June 6, 2012 at 11:36 am
Voice of Reason,
The negative energy emplied in this post-page, perhaps even through your own intolerant remarks, seems to accuse and place our local law enforcement in an indefensible position of having to defend against a malicious rumor that has not one eye witness, not one shred of evidence. We are dealing in setting dangerous community practices to feed this sort of energy. It creates baseless distrust rather than trust. This is not the kind of post that I will "just leave", it's the sort of post that either has to be validated, disavowed, or terminated in my opinion. It implies a heinous secretive act of official misconduct and consealment perpetrated within our community that if true would end in disastrous scandal It needs to either be validated or terminated as unacceptable ...your smarky personal attack notwithstanding.
voice of reason June 6, 2012 at 07:52 pm
Mr Buckley...you really don't know what you are talking about. The police are under no legal obligation to reveal any information involving any investigation of any crime. People speculating on mis-information doesn't put any legal burden on them what-so-ever. Any public information that a police department puts out is done either for public relations or for a call for assistance in providing further information to them. Let the police do their jobs and let's do ours by teaching our kids to be responsible, respecful adults. BTW, we all have access to the same information as the Patch does. Call the PD.
Rich Buckley June 6, 2012 at 09:34 pm
Voice of Reason,
We seem to be talking past each other. Your attitude seems arguable, reckless, smarky, and cruel.
Livermoronian June 20, 2012 at 04:11 pm
@Patch Reader. I found out about the big homeless guy, Chris, the one with the Polish accent. His sister came down and picked him up. He is now in LA with her. That's good news.
The other guy was murdered and all his prison art was missing. Still haven't seen the information posted in Livermore Patch. It was supposedly put in a small article in the paper last week, finally. Not much being released on the incident, but YES...he is no longer with us.
Livermoronian December 18, 2012 at 01:33 pm
I exercise my right to bear arms...and I believe teachers should be armed and trained...or at least the principal of each school. All automatic and combat weapons with magazines, should be outlawed and melted down when found and only kept by SWAT.

Wow, so quick to jump to conclusions and judge. Maybe T.G. BUYS the child's lunch. Every schoolRead More sells hot lunch every day. At the majority of our schools, more lunches are bought than given for free.
DeAnna Senft McDaid June 13, 2013 at 12:43 pm

A great issue! However, the rodeo is nothing but animal cruelty wrapped up as "tradition"Read More and "entertainment". Why would the animal's welfare become a concern now? Rodeo performers have been documented beating, kicking, and shocking normally docile cows and horses in chutes and holding pens. "Bucking broncos" and steers are provoked with electric prods, sharp sticks, caustic ointments, and the pinching "bucking" strap, which is what really makes them jump, they are not "wild" and "dangerous" . The cowboys earn points by spurring the bucking horse. I have seen them up close and many are bleeding. Calves, roped when running, have their necks snapped back by the lasso, often resulting in neck and back injuries, bruises, broken bones, and internal bleeding. After their short and painful "careers," animals in rodeos are sent to the slaughterhouse. Dr. C.G. Haber, a veterinarian who spent 30 years as a federal meat inspector, describes the animals discarded from rodeos for slaughter as being "so extensively bruised that the only areas in which the skin was attached [to the flesh] was the head, neck, leg, and belly. I have seen animals with six to eight ribs broken from the spine and, at times, puncturing the lungs. I have seen as much as 2 to 3 gallons of free blood accumulated under the detached skin." Every national animal protection organization opposes rodeos because of their inherent cruelty. Don't feel bad everyone, I used to love the rodeo too. Before I knew better...

Something to consider and not pushing it aside because I feel its unimportant, but what I'd love toRead More have access to is how the riders that were hurt are doing today. Two bull riders got gored, one in the back and he was down and out for a bit and then obviously not "okay" as he stumbled out of the arena and then another that got his leg hurt and he couldn't get himself over the gate on his own. Left saturday's Rodeo hoping they were okay and would love follow up if at all possible. Thanks!

I got the same thing, no outages when I called. I requested to be contacted by PG&E to explainRead More the problem. No call for that but I did get a "survey" call about their automated system. We have also lived here for 20+ years and never had this many outages.
