The West America Bank on First Street, near South P Street, was robbed Thursday afternoon, Sgt. Brian Martinez said.
The robbery occurred around 1 p.m. when a man walked into the bank and demanded cash from a teller.
Martinez said the suspect, who was unarmed, made off with an undisclosed amount of cash and fled on foot toward the neighboring — where he was last seen.
The robber is described as a black man in his 40s, standing 6 feet to 6 feet and 4 inches tall, with a medium build. Martinez said the man's face was also covered with clothing.
No injuries were reported during the robbery.
