Police Investigating Attempted Home Invasion

Officials say several suspects attempted to force entry into Castilleja del Arroyo apartment on Murietta Boulevard.

The is investigating another report of an attempted home invasion.

At 9:12 p.m. Sunday, police dispatch received a 911 call from an apartment in the Castilleja del Arroyo complex located at 975 Murietta Blvd, officials said. The victims reported several males had attempted to force entry into his apartment and at least one was armed with a black handgun. A suspect and the victim struggled in the doorway of the apartment, with the victim and his roommate being able to force the suspect out of the residence. The suspect then broke the front window and fled the scene.

Police arrived moments later only to learn that there was a several minute delay between when the crime occurred and the actual 911 call. The suspect(s) fled the area in an unknown direction.

There are indications that this crime is drug related, police said.
