Help Police 'Stuff the Cruiser' with School Supplies for Underprivileged Livermore Students

The school supply drive will be held at several locations in Livermore on August 10 and 11.

Information from the Livermore Police Department--

Livermore Police “Stuff the Cruiser” event to collect school supplies for underprivileged Livermore area students. The Livermore Police Department will be putting on its annual “Stuff the Cruiser” event on Saturday August 10th and Sunday August 11th.

Livermore Police Department personnel will be placing a marked police cruiser in front of Wal-Mart (2700 Las Positas Rd), Office Max (2400 Las Positas Rd.), Big Lots (4484 Las Positas Rd) and the CVS Pharmacy (1500 First St.) on Saturday and Sunday, August 10th and 11th, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

LPD employees and volunteers will be asking community members to stuff the patrol car full of school supplies. We are hoping to collect school supplies such as backpacks, paper, binders, pens, pencils, erasers, folders, protractors, compasses, glue, calculators, and scissors.

All of the collected school supplies will be sorted and the backpacks will be filled. The filled backpacks will then be provided to students in need so that they can start the school year with the supplies they need. Students who will be receiving the donated supplies have been identified through our Horizons Counseling program and the Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District. We supply students at all grade levels.

Last year we were able to supply nearly 350 students with backpacks filled with school supplies. We hope to be able to provide 400 students with supplies this year.If someone wants to make a donation, but cannot come to any of the above events, they can drop off their donated school supplies at the front lobby of the Police Department (1110 S. Livermore Ave) on or before Monday, August 12th at 6:00 p.m.
