Suspected Gang Members Arrested During Narcotics Search

Firearms also recovered during early Thursday search of residence on Coronado Way.

Here's information provided by the :

On September 13, 2012, at approximately 7:10 a.m., the newly formed Livermore Police Department Special Operations Unit (SOU) utilized the East County Tactical Team (SWAT) to serve a narcotics related search warrant at 1068 Coronado Way in the City of Livermore. As a result of the search warrant, the LPD SOU took 6 persons into custody on various charges ranging from narcotics offenses to resisting arrest. Two of the arrestee’s are suspected Norteno gang members. Additionally, two firearms were recovered from the residence.

This incident is part of an ongoing investigation and for that reason we are unable to provide any further information; however, we wish the citizens of Livermore to know that the Special Operations Unit has been in existence for a little over a month and is actively involved in pursuing both narcotics and gang related complaints. If you wish to provide information concerning these types of criminal activity, please leave a message with the LPD Narcotics Tip line at 925-371-4780. Please provide as much information as possible to include: license plate numbers / vehicle description, residence addresses / descriptions, suspect information, and a call back number. Callers may remain anonymous, but by doing so, it should be understood that solving problems becomes more difficult. Please do not use this number to report crimes in progress, emergencies, or when you require a patrol officer response.

The Livermore Police Department would like citizens to remain vigilant of their surroundings. We ask that you contact the police department if you see suspicious persons or activities in your neighborhood (non-emergency 925-371-4987 / Emergency 911).

See what happens when you go ghetto?

I am extremely happy LPD has reinstated the SOU. Some of us citizens are greatly alarmed at what we are witnessing. It is crime not race. I used the term referring to Oakland simply because there is at least one group coming here daily from the depths of gangland Oakland. They will continue to come and bring more with them to commit crimes in Livermore because they can until something is done about it. We have tradesmen is Livermore losing their tools at an alarming rate. The steady increase in thefts of all kinds. I have personally seen the same vans that drop off beggars driving around our neighborhoods casing homes. So we can ignore it, name it socially acceptable under political correctness or take back our streets for the
safety of our businesses and families. Just because you dont get it doesnt mean it is not happening. Some of us do and we are reporting.

And what exactly is "ghetto" meant, here?
Warsaw Ghetto, perhaps? Where a group of people were rounded up because of their religious beliefs and forced to live there? Inner-city ghetto, perhaps? Where because those people that could afford to leave a city after something voilent like a riot, left for somewhere else like the suburbs? Does "ghetto" have another meaning, here? Perhaps something more sinister and even either "hate-based" or "race-based"? Sorry, but the term "ghetto", here does not have as much meaning as another phrase bandied about in these postings like "the Oaklandization of Livermore". And talking in some sort of "code" like that leads to so much misunderstanding and misinterpretation.
Daniel Graham September 14, 2012 at 04:21 pm
Listen @fornicateus; Let the little thugs speak so you can get a good wiff of what Oaklandization means. When it comes to gangs and drugs in our neighborhood we have the right to be outraged and we will speak in any manner we want. You can call it hate speech, profanity or what ever your little liberal pansy ass wants to call it. These animals are destroying our quality of lives, our civilization and everything our parents fought for. Including the property values of our homes . So go back to Berkeley or Oakland or whatever liberal hellhole you come from and play nicey-nice with your little dolls. Maybe people on the SF Chronicle board would agree with your line of thinking. Good riddance!
Californicated1 September 14, 2012 at 04:34 pm
...And such name-calling, hate-filled, "anti-Liberal" (considering that one may not even know me or my political affiliations if I have any) labelling got approved for posting.
Add to it a little bit of "fear-mongering", too, like "we don't want these animals out here diminishing the quality of our life", even here on Junction Avenue in north Livermore. Sorry, but I'm not buying what's being sold, here. For the record, I am white, male, and in my mid-40s. I lived in Oakland from 1992 to 2005, first in Adams Point near Lake Merritt and then on Piedmont Avenue. I moved out to Livermore because it was a cheaper cost of living here in 2005 and I was one of the few people around that did not want to buy a home knowing what I knew back then of the California housing market. My job at the time was in Milpitas and despite the Friday afternoon commute back home, it wasn't a bad life. Back in 2005, Livermore pretty much had about the same "diversity" in it that I would find in any city in northern Colorado, especially Loveland, where my mother came from. Seven years later, Livermore still has that "diversity". And along with that "diversity", or perhaps a lack of it, there seems to be this hatred out there of anything "foreign" or even "outside" which to me seems both unfounded and irrational.

Good Job Livermore and Pleasanton PD
Don September 14, 2012 at 05:40 pm
@Cali-fornicated1Glad to see you still have a job.
Californicated1 September 14, 2012 at 05:57 pm
It would be nicer if I had full-time employment, though.
Daniel Graham September 14, 2012 at 08:20 pm
@fornicated; Nobody cares what you have but obviously it's too much free time. So get some diversity and find something else to do.
Daniel Graham September 14, 2012 at 08:24 pm
@fornicated; For the record we don't care what you are. Go back to Oakland! We are not buying your liberal garbage.
Californicated1 September 14, 2012 at 08:31 pm
Mr. Graham,
I have plenty of diversity in my life. Just not enough money out there these days to partake in all of that at this time. As for "too much free time", you are probably right. Perhaps if you hired me and kept me both employed and occupied, perhaps I wouldn't be so much of a "burr in your saddle". And if you couldn't hire me, perhaps you know of a single woman in her 40s that may just want to put up with my you-know-what and if she keeps me occupied, perhaps I wouldn't be posting here all that often. Just a couple of thoughts.
Californicated1 September 14, 2012 at 09:43 pm
How about if I just give my "Liberal" garbage away?
What about my "Conservative" garbage, would you buy that? Perhaps make it a sale like one will probably expect when the retail version of Windows 8 goes on sale next month, where if you buy the Operating System, the retailer will throw in lots of freebies, which may or may not work with your hardware--"but it's free!". And that quote was actually said to me back in October 2001 when I bought my copy of Windows XP at an Office Depo in Foster City when I told the clerk that I did not want the free stuff and seemed to misunderstand what "no" meant. So if I bundled my "Liberal Garbage" with my "Conservative Garbage", perhaps at a ratio of 2:1, would you buy it? How about if I equalized the ratio? Would that be more appealing. How about if I wrapped it up in a nice little bow for Christmas? Never too early to start your shopping. Might even be cheaper than what you may find at the outlet mall opening up next month.

Dont hate on the truth i would say it if i didnt experience it and its typical for a real honest opinion, and experience to be freakin deleted but enough people seen and it and alot of white have even admitted it so again dont hate the truth for what it is thankyou very much.
Californicated1 September 15, 2012 at 05:00 pm
I, for one, don't "hate on the truth", per se, but how it is expressed. And when the truth is laced with such poisoned words that profanity brings to it, then that truth may be hard to accept. The message not only needs to be clear, but also need to be palatable and above reproach so that nobody can object to it on any other grounds, such as the use of profanity, which may in turn detract from what the person telling the truth is trying to say, mean and convey.
You may be able to attract just as many flies with honey than you can with the leavings of some animal, but what would you rather be attracting those flies with?
Daniel Graham September 15, 2012 at 10:06 pm
@fornicated; Give it up! We don't care. Go mow the lawn. Volunteer at the Goodwill. Find something worthwhile to do with all that excessive amount of free time you must have. We beg you, for Christ sakes, just move on!

Actually, I am not going to at this time.
When it comes to bullies, I prefer to stand up to them and see what they are actually made of.

Awesome job LPD! Be safe out there & know you are appreciated!
My Bohemian Spirit September 17, 2012 at 02:40 pm
@Californicated It appears that you are actually the word bully around here on so many threads. Tiresome and boring.
Californicated1 September 17, 2012 at 04:02 pm
If you don't like what I write, then don't read my posts. It doesn't give one the right to be nasty, resort to insults, name-calling and downright even harrassment, which can even be defined as a crime under California Penal Code, Section 653 (m).
Instead, ignore my posts, scroll on to the next one that you do want to read, find entertaining, or worthy of response. Be civil and respectful. You might just get right back.

If we want to clean up the neighborhood we should start with the house on Coronado & Wagner. TOTAL TRASH.
livermore vigilante September 20, 2012 at 03:25 pm
They deal drugs between those two houses. Same druggies at each house. The Alameda sheriffs cleaned that one out a few weeks back
livermore vigilante September 20, 2012 at 03:36 pm
I dont understand what the Patch is worried about. Are we gonna offend the druggies and tweakers. I doubt they get internet in Santa Rita
Eric Ocasio September 20, 2012 at 08:04 pm
Your response is nonsense
1) How are you assuming I am a liberal and do you know what that actually means? 2) Who is the victim we are making? 3) How are livermore gangs tied to oakland gangs? 4) Why do you have to degrade the discussion to petty insults? Don't you have any valid arguments? 5) Why are you attacking people that not only are opposed to gang activity, but are thoughtful enough to address the issue from an educated and conscious standpoint? You really need to check yourself. Your bullshit is contributing and perpetuating the issue. Furthermore, you should take pride in the power of social awareness, rather than just round up a few buzzwords like "liberal" "oakland gangs" and "victimizing" and use them to attack intelligent people that intimidate you.
Eric Ocasio September 20, 2012 at 08:05 pm
Thanks for doing so.

It isn't up to the gov. to help raise your kids. The stork didn't drop the kid off unexpectedly. IfRead More you can't afford kids then don't have them.

Wow, so quick to jump to conclusions and judge. Maybe T.G. BUYS the child's lunch. Every schoolRead More sells hot lunch every day. At the majority of our schools, more lunches are bought than given for free.
DeAnna Senft McDaid June 13, 2013 at 12:43 pm
The schools give us 2 options as parents. 1. Buying lunches on campus or 2. Send them with a lunch.Read More Clearly the author of this chose number 1 and the school was OUT leaving the child with NO 3rd option. Shame on that school.

A great issue! However, the rodeo is nothing but animal cruelty wrapped up as "tradition"Read More and "entertainment". Why would the animal's welfare become a concern now? Rodeo performers have been documented beating, kicking, and shocking normally docile cows and horses in chutes and holding pens. "Bucking broncos" and steers are provoked with electric prods, sharp sticks, caustic ointments, and the pinching "bucking" strap, which is what really makes them jump, they are not "wild" and "dangerous" . The cowboys earn points by spurring the bucking horse. I have seen them up close and many are bleeding. Calves, roped when running, have their necks snapped back by the lasso, often resulting in neck and back injuries, bruises, broken bones, and internal bleeding. After their short and painful "careers," animals in rodeos are sent to the slaughterhouse. Dr. C.G. Haber, a veterinarian who spent 30 years as a federal meat inspector, describes the animals discarded from rodeos for slaughter as being "so extensively bruised that the only areas in which the skin was attached [to the flesh] was the head, neck, leg, and belly. I have seen animals with six to eight ribs broken from the spine and, at times, puncturing the lungs. I have seen as much as 2 to 3 gallons of free blood accumulated under the detached skin." Every national animal protection organization opposes rodeos because of their inherent cruelty. Don't feel bad everyone, I used to love the rodeo too. Before I knew better...

Something to consider and not pushing it aside because I feel its unimportant, but what I'd love toRead More have access to is how the riders that were hurt are doing today. Two bull riders got gored, one in the back and he was down and out for a bit and then obviously not "okay" as he stumbled out of the arena and then another that got his leg hurt and he couldn't get himself over the gate on his own. Left saturday's Rodeo hoping they were okay and would love follow up if at all possible. Thanks!

Thank you! That is what we want to know too. We have had more power outages this week than in theRead More 20+ years total that we have lived in this house!
Lynn June 8, 2013 at 07:03 pm
It would be nice to know, indeed. When my husband called to report the outage the recording saidRead More there were no outages in our area, which was clearly incorrect.
AT June 9, 2013 at 06:00 pm
I got the same thing, no outages when I called. I requested to be contacted by PG&E to explainRead More the problem. No call for that but I did get a "survey" call about their automated system. We have also lived here for 20+ years and never had this many outages.
