Plane Skids Off Runway at Livermore Municipal Airport

The Cessna 152 was totaled Tuesday afternoon. No injuries were reported.

Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department was called out to the Livermore Municipal Airport Tuesday afternoon after a plane skid off the runway.

"We received the call at 4:01 pm that a Cessna 152 skid off the runway and crashed into some of the lighting that marks the landing strip after landing," said Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department Battalion Chief Joe Testa. "The plane, valued at $30,000 was most likely totaled."

The airplane, owned by Ahart Aviation Services in Livermore was used for instructional operations, Testa said.

The pilot of the Cessna 152 was a student pilot, he said. No injuries were reported.

As to whether these incidents have occurred in the past, Testa said:

"We’ve had bad landings before but I can’t recall any recently."
