Pair Involved in Downtown Police Chase Due in Court

Carlos Caballero Sanchez and Robert William Allen are scheduled to be arraigned Thursday.

are scheduled to appear in court Thursday.

Court records show Carlos Caballero Sanchez and Robert William Allen, both of Livermore, are scheduled to be arraigned at 1:30 p.m. in Department 701 of the Gale-Schenone Hall of Justice in Pleasanton.

Sanchez, 28, faces charges of driving a stolen vehicle, hit-and-run, resisting arrest and evading police, according to police and court records. He is currently being held at Santa Rita Jail in Dublin in lieu of $155,000 bail.

Allen, 25, was a passenger in the stolen vehicle and faces a charge of resisting arrest, according to court records. He also is being held at Santa Rita Jail in Dublin in lieu of a $5,000 bail.

An officer during Monday's lunch hour spotted the pair inside the stolen vehicle on First Street in the downtown area, Officer Steve Goard said.

The officer attempted to stop the car — reported stolen out of Livermore about an hour earlier — but the vehicle ignored the officer's lights and sirens and fled the area, Goard said.

Witnesses said the car was seen running red lights, ignoring stop signs and dodging cars.

The officer who attemped to stop the stolen car backed off a bit during the pursuit due to the heavy-populated downtown area at that time of day, Goard said.

The brief pursuit ended when the car crashed into a parked truck after attempting to turn onto Linden Street from North Livermore Avenue.

Both Sanchez and Allen then ran from the scene in opposite directions, but were detained by officers nearby.

as well take advantage of it. What I'm talking about is a reasonable rate for charging that isRead More within going rates, not the usurious rates charged by certain companies. I always love the hundred yard heroes who hide behind a false screen name

I'm not a greenie.....the only reason we leased one is, because of the tax loophole on the taxes weRead More already pay, we have an essentially free car for a couple of years. Maybe you're just upset because you weren't smart enough to figure that out and take advantage of it. Just like everyone with their solar panels; if we're all forced to pay for it, you may

Rafael and his crew do great work, and not just lawn service. He replaced our sprinkler system andRead More sodded two new lawns when we moved into our house. He and his crew have trimmed trees, planted flowers, and even built a new fence and gate. All at a fair price. I can't recommend his services enough.

Thank you D! We couldn't be happier to have a program like this in our community. We couldn't agreeRead More with you more that giving back is the whole purpose of the program; to make our community a stronger more musical one for our youth!

Kevin and Chris are good guys. They genuinely want to give back and care about introducing as manyRead More kids (young and old) as possible to the incredibly rewarding world of music. I am fortunate enough to have had somebody similar to these guys motivate me to get involved in music when I was a kid. 31 years later, I am still beatin’ on my drums every day. Great job Kev and Chris. Keep it up!
