Update: Oven Explosion Injures 11 at Santa Rita Jail

An oven explosion injured multiple people around 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Santa Rita Jail in Dublin.

According to the Alameda County Fire Twitter feed, 11 patients are being treated after an explosion occurred in the oven at the jail facility located at 5300 Broder Boulevard. At least one patient has "critical injuries," according to the incident commander.

Seven are being treated at the jail infirmary; the others were taken to local hospitals.

Santa Rita Jail is Alameda County's main jail and ranks as the third-largest jail in the state, according to county officials.
