Oakland Police Investigation Leads to Arrests in Livermore

Livermore police assist Oakland officers in ongoing investigation.

Several have been arrested by Oakland Police, who on Thursday canvassed the north Livermore area.

Officials are not providing any details of the arrests and are saying the case is part of an ongoing investigation.

"We have arrested a couple suspects for possession of firearms and narcotics," said Lt. Blair Alexander of the Oakland Police Department.

Captain Steve Gallagher would not provide further details and said local officers assisted Oakland Police in the investigation.

Alexander said the people who were arrested were not Livermore residents.

As of 2:30 p.m., a woman was in custody of the California Highway Patrol. In addition, a man and teen boy also appeared to be in custody. They were arrested at a parking lot betwen the shopping center and department store on Las Positas Road, Alexander said.

Police were searching cars and were seen taking a woman and children from a car, a witness said on the Livermore Patch Facebook page. A SWAT unit and helicopter were also seen in the area. It appeared that a silver Lexus and black Toyota were involved.

A police command center was set this morning at the back parking lot of the on North Livermore Avenue, just across the Roselawn Cemetery.
