Michelle Le Family Hires Private Investigator

Family of missing nursing student Michelle Le of San Mateo is working with Danville-based private investigator to try to find her.

The Le family announced Tuesday it has hired a private investigator to help find out what happened to

Michael Framé of the Danville-based The Framé Group is working independently of the Hayward Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation, according to an email from Krystine Dinh, a cousin of the San Mateo nursing student who has been missing since May 27.

The role of the private investigator is to assist anyone who is willing to share information about the whereabouts of Le, who Hayward police have said was likely killed the night she was last seen in a Hayward medical facility parking garage.

Le was last seen around 7 p.m. on May 27 while attending clinical rotations at the Kaiser Medical Center in Hayward. Classmates said she stepped out to grab something from her car, which was parked in the parking garage next to the hospital.

This past weekend, the Le family worked with community volunteers and the KlaasKids Foundation in a three-day search for Le in remote areas of the East Bay.

Dinh said the Hayward Police Department and the FBI are still involved in the investigation of Le’s disappearance.

“The search is not over, and we’re working with Michael Frame to directly ask whoever may know any information to step forward,” she wrote.

According to a letter from The Framé Group, the private investigators will assist anyone with information with complete confidentiality.

The letter encourages people who know anything about Le’s whereabouts, or who were possibly forced into participating in her disappearance, to contact the private firm.

While the Le family continues to say they believe Le is alive, Hayward police have classified her disappearance as a homicide case based on various forms of evidence that have led them to believe she was killed by a person or people she knew.

No arrests have been made, and no suspects have been identified.

Anyone who would like to contact Framé can call 925-837-8309, Ext. 33 or email Michael@theFrameGroup.com. Anonymous emails can be accepted through the firm’s website, www.TheFrameGroup.com.

Le is described as 5 feet 6 inches tall with black hair and brown eyes. The Hayward Police Department has set up a tip line for anyone with information that could help with the case; that number is 510-293-5051.

People can also call Hayward police at 510-293-7033 if they have information on Le's disappearance.
