Livermore Swears-in New Police Officers
A ceremony was held at Police Department Headquarters Tuesday afternoon.
The City of Livermore has two new police officers and one reserve officer sworn to protect and to serve the citizens of the community.
Officers Maxmiliano Messina and Daniel Boyd were sworn-in as officers at a ceremony Wednesday afternoon at the Police Department. Preston Bergner took the oath as reserve officer.
Interim Chief Randy Sonnenberg administered the oath to the officers.
Other city leaders in attendance were Mayor John Marchand, Vice Mayor Stewart Gary and City Manager Marc Roberts.
Officers, detectives and other police personnel who could get away from their duties for a few minutes formed a line circling the room.
A special presentation was made by Livermore resident Michael Lause, a double lung transplant recipient who received the gift of life from fallen Richmond Police Officer Brad Moody. Moody was killed in the line of duty in 2008.
