Suspected Livermore Serial Rapist Arrested

Detectives believe there are possibly more victims and are encouraging anyone with information to contact police.

Here's information provided by the :

On Wednesday, Livermore Police Detectives completed an extensive investigation that lead to the arrest of serial rape suspect, Andrez Rodriguez of Livermore.

Rodriguez, 34, was arrested March 16 on suspicion of sexually assaulting three women and threatening physical violence against those victims. Rodriguez allegedly attacked the three victims on three separate dates within the City of Livermore. After each reported attack, Rodriguez’ identity was unknown. Detectives, through several months of investigation, were able to positively identify Rodriguez through forensic evidence, as the person responsible for these attacks.

Rodriguez allegedly targeted females from out of the area who were engaged in prostitution. In each incident, Rodriguez lured the women to Livermore with the offers of large amounts of money in exchange for sexual contact. Rodriguez arranged through Internet websites to meet with each victim in the 2200 block of Portola Avenue.

Once the victims met Rodriguez, he would get into their car and threaten physical violence if they resisted his sexual assault. Rodriguez proceeded to attack the victims, and then stole their identification and cellular phones after the attack.

There was reluctance on behalf of the victims to come forward to law enforcement and report the attacks. The victims all feared they would not be believed due to the activity they were involved in. Detectives believe that there are possibly more victims and are trying to reach out to those possible victims.

Rodriguez was arraigned on March 20 on the following charges:

  • 261(a)(2) PC – Rape
  • 286(c)(3) PC – Sodomy by threat to retaliate
  • 288a(c)(3) PC – Oral copulation by threat to retaliate
  • 211 PC – Robbery (2 counts)
  • 261(a)(2) PC – Rape (Attempted)
  • 209(b)(1) PC – Kidnap with the intent to commit rape
  • 422 PC – Criminal Threats

The Livermore Police Department is encouraging any individual who witnessed any of the incidents or has additional information as to the identity of additional victims, to contact the Livermore Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Bureau at 925-371-4700.

Jesse Strickland. You have giving us some very helpful insite into to those sins that lead people to do what they do. As a Christian we believe that sin is inherrant to all man kind and that it does what it was intended to do"kill steal, and destroy". Murder was his next step. When I was a boy I would steal small things. As I got older and more devious I would go after bigger items. Then to cars. That's how far I went. But you see if my theft was enhanced by a drug problem, I would of tookin my theft much further. In the same way. Sex can be a drug. A good drug. But tookin way to far when we distort it's design. Sex stimulates the mind as do drugs. Sex becomes addictive that's why billionaires are being made through porn flics. And just like a drug ask any drug addict, the body and mind get used of the same old thing day in and day out. So more drugs, or more crime, or more money, or more sex are the only things that can fulfill our habits whatever they may be? He will and must pay for his crimes. We all must. But he must come to grips with all those things that lead him to it and see the influence of evil and its utter outcome. Jail and or hell! And only then will he see his need for a saviour! Which alone is Jesus Christ who in His death, took the penalty for sin for all who would put their faith in Him Alone. He who knew no sin became sin,for us! The just for the unjust! Peace!

papaoc March 30, 2012 at 11:00 PM
Come on David Mills! These are necessary facts of behavioral attributes which inform us all here on these kind of crimes. To delete would be to over look these facts and mis inform the bloggers. What about the death theats or I should say "suggested threats" we seen hear. Those seem more out of line then ones criminal history which is just truth.
CretinBop March 31, 2012 at 03:13 AM
Yep, same here. Grew up with and skated with Dezi through HS. Never heard anything good about him after that. What a POS!!
ingrid pruitt March 31, 2012 at 06:01 AM
Meth can change your personality to an extent, but I believe this PIG still had the ability to REASON, the ability to tell right from wrong! There is no way any substance, childhood trauma, etc is responsible for his actions....HE IS!....... HE CHOSE, A CONSCIOUS DECISION! You gonna try to tell me that in his entire 34 yrs of life, he never learned that RAPING, SODOMIZING,and ROBBING someone is WRONG? NO WAY.......!!!! KNOW THIS....he will get what he has coming!!!! KARMA will deal with this PUNK! And so will the righteous men of the yard, rapists are SCUM....everybody knows that.
Thomas Talbot March 31, 2012 at 09:32 AM
Look Dezi screwed up! Big time , but stop bashing him, some of you dont know his past and what he went thru! Which is no excuse for his actions and what he did. He is pretty much screwed the rest of his life, cant we just leave at that! And Im sorry for the those involved, you did not deserve this!
Thomas Talbot March 31, 2012 at 09:37 AM
And I know what he did was wrong in like the 100 degree, dont get me wrong, I want the full punishment for what he has done! Its just hard to know someone that I knew to do something like this! But its not all about the drugs! Thats all im hearing! you have to dig deeper that than that!
Cory Noltensmeier March 31, 2012 at 03:58 PM
Here Thomas I'll dig deeper, he is a sick pervert, why preyed on women and finally got caught. That needs no deeper digging. Papaoc take religion out of this because you sound crazy. I love how people believe in a higher power that allows for all this evil in the world to take place, give me a break. I have a child and if I had the power to stop this child from getting hit by a car but instead I said I am going to teach my child a lesson and let the car hit my child. You all would call me sick, but a god you talk about does this and it is ok. That is a sick deity to believe in. You keep on believing in that crap though. This guy did what've did because he is slick individual. Porn, drugs or none of those things made him do it, he made himself do it. Now I am off to go watch some porn. Have a great day.
Paula Pine March 31, 2012 at 04:07 PM
In typical fashion most of you already have him convicted, just another classic example of American hypocricy, instead of being innocent until proven guilty it's really the opposite! I haven't known Dez long but he was nothing but cool and respectful to me. I am female who has been alone with him on several occasions both in my car and my house and never felt the least bit threatened. If he did these crimes I'm sure there is a root cause for his actions, not to say that excuses what he did if he did it at all. As far as the drug excuse leave it alone, drugs don't make you do what you do, your problems lead you to self medicate, beit street drugs, food, sex, pharmaceutical drugs etc. most people do it in some way! I for one hope it isn't true.
Irish vigilante March 31, 2012 at 04:42 PM
Funny how the the newspaper nazi deletes anything that has any truth!! Jesse Strickland was right. I heard the same thing! The press only tell you what they want to hear. You going to delete this David? I haven't accused or cursed! This is a violation of our freedom of speech!! Dezi used to have many friends male and female. I guess he's just a broken mind!
sk8hunny March 31, 2012 at 06:09 PM
Just to be clear, I am not saying or meant to imply that heavy drug use ALWAYS leads to mental instabilities, and by no means do I suggest that mental illnesses are caused by drug use. I just believe like with AirCooledMama, that in some cases, heavy drug use inhibits that part of the brain that tells us don't do it!. We are all capable of committing evil acts, but for the most part we CHOOSE not to. Look at how some people act when they are too drunk for instance... some start fighting over the littlest reason, or for no reason at all. Knowing how SOME people feel on meth... that they are invincible, that they can get away with anything, and that combined with someone that already has nothing to lose or doesn't care that they lose everything - well worse acts could happen. Not every person on meth is evil and will choose to commit crimes, but SOME people who use meth do things that their previously sober mindset would not ever have thought they'd do.
sk8hunny March 31, 2012 at 06:11 PM
Also, I know that what someone experiences in the past has a lot to do with how they act in the future.
sk8hunny March 31, 2012 at 06:16 PM
And yes in same cases, the drugs just intensifies what is already there
DEATHPENALTY March 31, 2012 at 07:34 PM
OK people... I've tried to remain quiet since I'm told to not speak until the case is over but some of this BullSh1t I'm reading is too much. FIRST of all If you are not a tweeker then you don't know sh1t about tweeking. Meth DOES NOT MAKE YOU RAPE SOMEONEx7 IT MAKES YOU WANT TO F*CK BUT NOT RAPE OVER N OVER!!! 2ND- Innocent until proven guilty???? He's Admitted that he did AND I VOUCH THAT IT IS INDEED 111000000000% TRUE...TRUST ME ON THIS ONE. 3RD- STOP BASHING ON HIM??? Are you f*cken serious??!?!?! Forget bashing I want him dead, not breathing, beat down by mexicans like Richard Ramirez. There isn't enough bashing one can do 4th You question his guilt??? Leave your daughter alone with him-eat your words
Irish vigilante April 01, 2012 at 12:56 AM
Ok I hear this all the time, the term "tweaker" most people don't know what that is. I used meth when I was younger and I never wanted to kill people, commit crimes, or hurt anyone. It did make me talk a lot, stay awake, not eat, play video games, spray paint things in the middle of the night, smoke cigs and masturbate constantly. If murder or rape is in someone it is. That's it. Now stop blaming his actions on drugs. He did it now he must pay for it. It's sad for him and for the victims. Let's stop making excuses now the only thing he has a achieved is tax money wasted on feeding his ass for the next 20 years. People who cannot be trusted in society (violent crimes) if convicted should be given 2 appeals and if that fails then executed at the cheapest expense. We give more respect to animals than we do to the victims of these animals.
Choncie April 01, 2012 at 06:52 AM
Sounds like these girls didn't get there money and cried for pd ... maybe these women shouldnt have put themselves in that situation. dude is a creep and deserves jail but really. This probably wouldnt even get a police action in sf or oaktown
won yung gai April 02, 2012 at 05:28 PM
so....god, if your mother, sister, daughter,or niece was wearing a low cut blouse and or a tight skirt that was a little too form fitting, would they be putting themselves in a potential situation? How about the victims of this predator? Their friends and family? He deserves to be raped prison style for each one of his victims. He'll go in a tight-end and come out a wide receiver, if at all. if the local PD isn't able to protect you, then you have to protect yourself by any means necessary.
vicki April 02, 2012 at 11:42 PM
@ sk8hunny - I agree w/you. I know what you are saying (writing). And yes, drugs make many people do what they normally would not do. Ever seen a meth addict who's been up for 4 days act normal? Not me. Drugs make people LOSE THEIR MINDS - mentally and literally. I am not saying that drugs made him do what he did but I'm sure they didn't help. I do believe he is sick mentally, whether it was evident in the past or not. I also don't believe this is his first rodeo. I think there are other victims of his sickness and this time he got caught - finally. I also do NOT believe rapists or child molesters can be rehabilitated. I think it's in their DNA and they will offend again. As for justice being served on the yard in jail - believe it or not, they are PROTECTED from the general jail/prison population. That's what fries me. Yes, they go outside at a 'special' time so they don't get hurt. They're called, 'The Sensitive' population and they get to go out, eat, and exercise after the regular population goes back to their cells.
vicki April 03, 2012 at 12:02 AM
LOL! I AGREE 100%!!
sk8hunny April 03, 2012 at 06:15 AM
@Vicki... I agree. People that go to those extremes usually do not turn back. More often, they get worse. I don't want to think the worst, but history often shows that actions like that are just a start for something worse.

Funny how I know who almost everyone is on this forum
Doctor K July 03, 2012 at 08:38 PM
It's been over 3 months.... any update on this story?
OhMamma July 03, 2012 at 09:07 PM
I don't know how I missed this story when it came out. I knew Dezi in high school, and worked with him breifly at a day care center. I never would have imagined he would have been capable of anything so dastardly. Sure, he had a twisted sense of humor, but I never would have guessed there was more underneath. I guess you never really know people as well as you think you do.
Doctor K July 11, 2012 at 12:11 AM
OhMamma: I knew him too. I knew he wasn't up to any good, but I never thought he'd do this. Shame, he had such good charisma.
