Police identify Anthony Cano as the Livermore man who was shot and killed near downtown Hayward early Monday morning.

Police have identified the Livermore man shot and killed in Hayward early Monday morning as Anthony Cano, according to a report from the Bay Area News Group.

Anthony Cano died around 4:30 a.m. outside of a home at Seventh and C streets, Lt. Roger Keener said.

Officers responded to reports of multiple gunshots in the residential neighborhood and found Cano lying in the driveway of a home, Keener said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said they have not released Cano's age because they are still verifying his date of birth, but initial reports said he was in his 20s.

No arrests have been made and police did not provide a description of the suspect. Witnesses said a red vehicle was seen speeding away from the home, where Cano had been staying for about a week.
