UPDATE: Firefighters Clear House Fire

Emergency crews on Saturday responded to a house fire on the 300 block of North P Street.

A structure fire on the 300 block of North P Street has been extinguished, Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department Battalion Chief Jeff Peters said.

Fire crews arrived on scene shortly after 2 p.m. Saturday and were met with heavy smoke throughout the home.

Peters said the house was unoccupied at the time of the fire, which sparked a sprinkler activation. The house sits at a corner of the North P Street and Olivina Avenue intersection, and across the McDonald's restaurant.

The owner of the property says the house is listed as a historic landmark in town, according to Peters.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Yes that is the old house that used to sit on the corner of L st and Chestnut. When they moved it they put a lot of $$ into making it a "greenhouse". After they were done with all the work they put it up for sale. The house seemed like it sat on the market for a long time. I'm still not sure that they ever were able to sell it. Bad investment maybe, I don't know forsure tho... I hope for the best!

Yeah well .....it's suspicious. There's way too much criminal activity going on in that exact area. Some see the truth and actually know, but its hard to get anyone to listen to us. Even when we give names!

I drive by this house a couple times a day. It was on the market for quite awhile (can't imagine living next to McD's frying oil odor) but was apparently bought buy Prime Mechanics, out of SJose, to use as an office. I've always seen guys in and about, and their Prime trucks parked there, but last week was the first time I saw a lady entering the front door. Not that there's anything ominous about that, just different than the norm and it stuck out to me. Today on way to Joanne's Fabrics I was detoured, lots of fire trucks on the street. Didn't see any damage, at least on the outside.

Also saw the scene today, just as they began cleaning up. A window in the front was broken and all other windows were open (appeared to be airing it out). From what I could see with the windows and doors open, not much fire damage but a lot of water.
