Fire crews on Thursday responded to a fire in area of Rincon Avenue and Pine Street.

Fireworks may have sparked a small blaze Thursday afternoon on Pine Street, just off Rincon Avenue, officials said.

At about 1:10 p.m. emergency crews were sent to the area for a reported structure fire.

Large clouds of black smoke could be seen shooting up to the sky when fire crews arrived on scene. The fire was quickly extinguished and confined to a backyard.

"There have been a lot of fireworks reported in this area," said Jane Moorhead, deputy chief of the Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department. "It's possible one of the fireworks dropped onto the pile of debris."

No injuries were reported in the blaze and a dog from a neighboring backyard was seen being returned to its owner by a firefighter.
