Gas Leak? No, Bad Onions
Firefighters responded to a report of a gas leak at Safeway and find odor came from a box of bad onions.
Gas leak? No. Bad onions? Yes.
The on First Street near Las Positas Road was temporarily evacuated this afternoon while firefighters investigated a report of a gas leak.
Instead, they found a box of bad onions in a back room.

"We had a full initial response, and it ended up being a box of onions," said Jack Neiman-Kimel, Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department battalion chief.
Firefighters responded to the scene just before noon after receiving reports of a natural gas odor in the building.
