Firefighters Extinguish Suspicious Blaze at Livermore High

Authorities have no cause for the blaze at an unused greenhouse at the back of the campus.

Firefighters extinguished a small blaze Tuesday evening inside an unused greenhouse at , Battalion Chief Joe Testa said.

Emergency crews were dispatched to the fire at 7:57 p.m.

Firefighters arrived on campus within five minutes, but had to drive through the front gate to gain access to the unused building at the back of the campus, Testa said.

The blaze was put down at 8:10 p.m. and no injuries were reported.

Testa said a back wall of the greenhouse was damaged during the fire.

Officials said the fire is considered suspicious.

"(The greenhouse) is not in use anymore and there was nothing around it that led to the fire," Testa said.

On April 22, firefighters were called to the same area as Tuesday night's fire to check on a report of running water.

"It was a matter of turning faucets off that had been turned on," Testa said.
