Firefighters Extinguish Laundry Room Fire

Emergency crews quickly knock down small fire at a duplex on the 300 block of South K Street.

Firefighters extinguished a small fire Saturday at a duplex on the 300 block of South K Street, Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department Battalion Chief Joe Testa said.

At 5:13 p.m., emergency crews were sent to the area for a report of a possible structure fire. When firefighters arrived on scene they could smell smoke coming from a duplex, Testa said.

Firefighters were able to locate the fire inside a laundry room of the duplex. The fire — contained to a floor and wall inside the laundry room — was extinguished by 5:30 p.m., Testa said.

The fire likely started after soldering done earlier in the day, Testa said.

No injuries were reported in the fire and the renters were able to return to their home.
