Fire officials are calling a vegetation fire that burned four acres in the area of Florence Road and Anza Way in Livermore 'suspicious.'

"This was the second fire in the area on the same day," Livermore Pleasanton Battalion Chief Joe Testa told Patch.

According to Testa, around 2 p.m. yesterday, another fire started a mere 30 feet away from last night's blaze.

"It is definitely suspicious to have two fires in such close proximity," Testa said. "No incendiary devices were found in either fire but Livermore Police was called to investigate."

On June 9, police arrested a 17-year-old boy on suspicion of arson who they say admitted to starting all of the recent fires in Livermore.

According to the Pulsepoint phone application, the fire last night started around 7:50 p.m. Livermore Patch readers reported seeing the smoke at 7:56 p.m.

Testa said, "Fire personnel are still at the fire scene this morning and will likely be there much of the day."

Testa says that although there are houses on either sides of the fire, no structures were damaged and no injures were reported.

"Cal Fire, Camp Parks Fire and Alameda County Fire assisted with fighting this fire," Testa said.

Residents near the fire reported heavy smoke in the area during the fire and smoke from the blaze could be seen throughout the Tri-Valley.

Testa asks anyone with information regarding these fires call the Livermore Police Department at (925) 294-7531. Officials ask residents to be vigilant during this drought season and call 911 immediately if they see a fire.

What did you do with the poor little guy Robert? This is a game changer, I think this kid should get attempted murder charges brought against him.

We surrendered the kitten to the staff at Sage Emergency Veterinary Hospital in Dublin at about 10pm last night. He was still alive however in very bad shape. Hopefully they will be able to save him and find a family to adopt him. He is a little fighter for sure.

Good news about the burnt kitten we found. Sage animal hospital was able to save him and one of the staff has taken him home to rehab him and then they're going to put him up for adoption! Ya!
