UPDATE: Woman Hospitalized After Suspicious Fire Destroys Home

Reports of explosions heard in large house fire on 2300 block of Palomino Road, investigation ongoing.

A woman was hospitalized after a house on the 2300 block of Palomino Road in Springtown was destroyed late Monday in what officials are calling a suspicious fire.

Emergency crews were sent to the area at about 11:15 p.m. for a report of a garage on fire, according to reports heard on a police scanner. Reports also said that several explosions were heard from the area. The fire appeared to have spread to the house as firefighters on scene reported a fully-involved residence on fire.

"It's very unusual for a house to be fully involved," Livermore-Pleasanton Battalion Chief Jeff Peters said.

Police on scene also evacuated nearby houses. A neighboring home suffered minor heat damage in the blaze.
