Driver Crashes into Pet Food Express

The pet wash inside the store will be closed for at least a month due to the damage from the collision

An SUV crashed into the Pet Food Express during the early morning hours of April 16. A Pet Food Express staffer reported that the driver of the SUV was arrested by Livermore Police.

According to the employee at Pet Food Express, the car was traveling on Stanley Boulevard when it drove between a tree and a traffic light pole before it hit the pet food store.

Linda Loza of Pet Food Express wrote, via email:

"We are still waiting for all of the costs but it looks like it will be upwards of several hundred thousand dollars when it is all said and done. The damage caused by the accident splintered a structural support, destroyed the pet wash, flooded the floor area, and sent one of the tubs flying out on to the sales floor. The driver was very lucky to walk away unhurt."
