Dozens Arrested at Livermore Labs Good Friday Protest

Many protesters were arrested for blocking the entrance gate to the lab and were released after being cited, according to the Contra Costa Times.

The annual Good Friday morning protest at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory resulted in 37 arrests on Friday, the Contra Costa Times reports.

Protesters blocked the lab's west gate and were arrested after they ignored the Alameda County Sheriff's Department instruction to disperse. After receiving a citation, the protesters were released.

The annual protest has happened on Good Friday for 30 years, as a number of organiziations voice their disagreement with labs involvement with nuclear weapons.

One group, the Mt. Diablo Peace & Justice Center, had a three-day march from Walnut Creek to Livermore to attend the protest.

Why would I need to read the Bible when I can just turn on the History channel and watch the Bible. I'm not a religious man but I do know history. God didn't kill people, people killed people in the name of God, please get that straight. The other thing is if you would have taken the time to read what I said and maybe some more time to understand it, then you sir would know that I don't agree with the protest. However I do agree with the right to protest and MAINLY the right to comment. I can honestly say that some protesters are very arrogant and not well educated and the point they try and make "for God" will most likely send them to hell. You have the right to say what you will ( in which I agree, this time ). But they too have the right as well.

Don't they have a laser that could take the protestors out? One shot is all it takes

LOL... I prefer that the beloved Livermore Lab NOT work with nukes in my town, thank you very much. And YES, everyone has a right to an opinion, even if YOU don't agree with it. Since I am an atheist, I find the use of in god in any of our government doctrine offensive & silly. Much like saying "in the tooth fairy we trust". The Bible is a work of FICTION, it's NOT HISTORY, again my opinion along with millions of others.

So with all due respect, it sounds like you do not believe in God and do not believe in defending our country. So can I guess, in your world there is no evil. What color is the sky in your world?

John, you are correct. I do not believe in god, but I do believe in evil. Protecting and defending the innocent from destruction has nothing to do with an imaginary entity. it's about empathy and humanity. The sky was a lovely blue today and this evening it's clear.
