Dozens Arrested at Livermore Labs Good Friday Protest

Many protesters were arrested for blocking the entrance gate to the lab and were released after being cited, according to the Contra Costa Times.

The annual Good Friday morning protest at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory resulted in 37 arrests on Friday, the Contra Costa Times reports.

Protesters blocked the lab's west gate and were arrested after they ignored the Alameda County Sheriff's Department instruction to disperse. After receiving a citation, the protesters were released.

The annual protest has happened on Good Friday for 30 years, as a number of organiziations voice their disagreement with labs involvement with nuclear weapons.
