Convicted Sex Offender Arrested For Failing to Register with Police

David Garrison, 48, was arrested for violating his annual sexual offender registration requirements.

Information from the Livermore Police Department--

On Thursday, April 25, 2013, Detectives from the Livermore Police Department
obtained an arrest warrant for David Garrison for violating his annual sexual offender registration requirements. Garrison was convicted in 2012 for 311.11 PC – Possession of Child Pornography. As a result of his conviction, Garrison is required to register annually as a convicted sex offender, per California Penal Code Section 290.

LPD’s Investigation’s Unit, along with a Crime Analyst, are responsible for conducting routine checks on convicted sex offenders. The registration checks are designed to ensure sex offenders are in compliance with their requirements.

After reviewing Garrison’s registration activity, detectives determined that he had failed to comply with his annual registration requirement. Garrison never registered annually with LPD or any other law enforcement agency in 2013. As a result, detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Garrison’s arrest. On Friday, April 26, 2013, Garrison was arrested on his outstanding warrant without incident. Garrison was transported to Santa Rita Jail.
