CHP Urges Drivers to be Cautious on Wet, Flooded Roads

Officials advise to reduce speeds on slick roads and leave more space between cars.

An early October storm hit the Bay Area Tuesday night, making roads hard to handle, a California Highway Patrol officer said.

According to CHP Officer Ralph Caggiano overnight rain led to flooding in Oakland, San Jose, Marin, parts of state Highway 17 near Santa Cruz and San Francisco.

Caggiano said Caltrans has been busy clearing drains to relieve flooding and the CHP has been handling many collisions overnight.
