Saving The Bankhead

For those who want the Bankhead closed, I am reposting this food for thought:  Just got back from the Red Molly show at the Bankhead. Incredible! Super talented lady trio bandwith dobro, bass and guitar. Great entertainment with well deserved standing ovations. I'm guessing there were about 300+ people there in the audience, supporting the Bankhead and entertainment in downtown Livermore with their presence and their wallets...and I began to think about how really very very small and narrow the audience is here on Patch for all of the vocalized consternation about the Bankhead's finances, the City's involvement, etc. Patch's audience can really only be measured by the number of people who comment, not the number of comments, but the people, like a theater, in the seats. I think those who want to bury the Bankhead have a lot of work to do, well well beyond commenting on Patch, if they want to shutter the theater, and they will have to overcome the efforts of those who have been working to save it. I don't see that happening. Well Red Molly was a great show. Glad I bought a CD to hear them again and again.
