Is The Bankhead Bankrupt?

The Independent News, a known front for the Bankhead, says they want the city to subsidize the theatre with our tax dollars.

This is wrong, please.  They started the Friends of the Bankhead to get the city to coffer up monies which is evidenced in this quoate from the group: “We also intend to assist the City to encourage transition of the operation to a standard of transparency and stewardship appropriate for a  community supported facility operated as a non-profit

Ultimately, the City would be expected to take over the Bankhead Theater from the Bank."

Anothers person says that “Even if this annual loss were reduced over time, the expense to the City’s general fund year after year would be high. City-owned theaters throughout the country receive donations at only a fraction of the donations contributed to non-profit theater organizations. Tax-paying citizens see no reason to subsidize city coffers. To avoid having to take large sums from its general fund, the City would have to board up the Bankhead.”

This is a quoated form the Independent Newspaper of last weeks edition. Now you know for a fact that the group of Seppulpa and the others wants those the fine arts of Livermore to be paid for by our taxes to accomodate the small groups of the people at our subsidy. This is bad and I am against it to the whole heartedly.
