Tri-Valley Death Notices: Former Mayor, Native of Sicily

William Hodges, a resident of Dublin for 40 years, died on New Year’s Eve at the age of 75. A native of Ohio, Bill came to California with his family when he was 12. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Patti, their four children, eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren. A celebration of his life will be held at St Raymond Catholic Church on Jan. 25 at 10 a.m. with a reception following in the Kids Klub at the church.

Matthew Wayne Ketcham, a resident of Livermore, died on Dec. 6 at the age of 49. He is survived by Laury, his wife of 26 years, and their two children. There will be a celebration of Matt's life on Saturday, Feb. 8 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Livermore Veterans Memorial Building at 522 South L Street from Memorial donations can be made to the American Cancer Society or to the Livermore High School FFA, C/O Joe McNealy, 600 Maple St, Livermore, CA 94550.

Constance Klugow, a resident of Danville, died at home on Dec. 17 at the age of 85. She is survived by three children and three granddaughters. There will be a memorial service on Feb. 8 at 3:30 p.m. at St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church in Danville.

Dr. Daniel Eric Lucas, a resident of Pleasanton died on Jan. 14 at the age of 54. Dan was a radiologist at the John Muir Medical Centers and a partner with Bay Imaging Consultants. He is survived by Becky, his wife of 21 years. Friends and family are invited to attend a service on Wednesday Jan. 22, 11 a.m. at Lafayette Orinda Presbyterian Church. Donations can be made to Make-A-Wish Foundation in memory of Daniel Lucas, or flowers can be sent to Lafayette Orinda Presbyterian Church.

Kenneth Roy Mercer, a resident of Pleasanton, died on Jan. 14 at the age of 71. The former mayor of Pleasanton, Ken was first elected to Pleasanton City Council in 1976. He served on the council until 1992. There will be a memorial service celebrating his life on Saturday, Jan. 25 at 1 p.m. at the Pleasanton Senior Center.

Onita Pacheco, a resident of Pleasanton, died on Jan. 4 at the age of 77. Her husband of 50 years, Joe Pacheco, died in 2005. She is survived by their three children, four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

June K. Ross-Josiassen, a resident of Livermore, died in November at the age of 90. She is survived by four children, her grandchildren and great grandchildren. There will be a memorial service on Sunday, Jan. 26 at 2 p.m. at the Community of Christ Church in Fremont.

Kevin Gerard Sweeney, a resident of Livermore, died on Jan. 7 at the age of 58. His is survived by his wife, their two children and their two grandchildren.  

Vicki Tonnesen, a resident of Danville, died on Jan. 14 at the age of 59. A former employee of the San Ramon Valley Unified School District. There will be a private memorial for friends and family.

Jacqueline Trifeletti, a resident of Danville, died on Jan. 13 at the age of 93. Born in Sicily, she moved with her mother to New York City when she was nine-months-old. She married Carmine Trifeletti in 1942. He fought in World War II and she worked at Douglas Aircraft. The pair were married for almost 50 years before Carmine died. She is survived by her son, four grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
