50 Years Later, What's Livermore's Dream?

Less traffic, particular stores to reopen and more. What's your dream for Livermore?

Today marks the 50th anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s march on Washington and his famous "I have a dream" speech.

Everyone has a dream, big and small. We asked Livermore Patch Facebook readers to finish this sentence, with the city of Livermore, their neighborhood and community in mind: "I have a dream ..."

Here's what they said:

  • Kevin: ... that 580 eastbound will have no traffic tomorrow morning.
  • Carole: My dream is that Nob Hill would reopen the store on Vasco Road. It was the best!
  • Joelle: ... that Livermore does something about it's homeless problem.
  • Michael: ... that the Livermore PD de-militarize and go back to community policing.
  • Ashley: ... that my car doesn't get stolen again, I don't get harassed by addicts while walking down first street, and I don't get followed to my home by a car full of gang-bangers...again.
  • Bryon: ... that all the cheap labor conservatives end up in jail where they belong.
