Livermore Rotary & Local Scout - give Back to the Community

What does the Livermore Rotary Club, A Blue Oak Tree, and a local boy scout have in common?

The Livermore Rotary noon Club is partnering with a local Livermore scout to help reforest local parks with Blue Oak Trees.  Nathan White will be leading a reforestation project in cooperation with the Livermore Rotary Club and the East Bay regional Parks.  The reforestation project is financed by individual donors in the noon club, with some additional funds coming from the club itself.  The idea behind the reforestation was adopted to thank Rotarians for donating to the clubs 2013 Rotary International Fundraising Campaign.  Everyone who donated would have a tree planted in the local parks as a way of saying "thank you".  The need for reforestation exists for a variety of reasons.  Trees die of natural causes, through drought or storms, and some damage is caused by human destruction during the camping seasons.  The project is listed as a general service project at this time. Nathan is hoping to plant 70+ Blue Oak Trees in the upcoming fall planting.  A second planting may be required to accommodate additional donors who donated after the first planting.
